Was He Stone Cold Drunk?

Moderation in alcohol intake was recommended by the President's doctor.

This may shed some new light on two significant events through which the President slept:
AC Anderson tonight asked David Gergen why President Obama didn't respond to the question about the pirate situation. David Gergen kept it real simple and stated he (the president) didn't need to answer because he has a government who can handle the pirate situation. He also stated they didn't need to wake the president up in the middle of the night to tell him of that either. Gergen also said they didn't need to wake the president up for the N korea rocket launch. The president and the military knew of the rocket launch weeks before the G-20. We have a secretary of state, secretary of defense and a military who are capable of handling a crisis. The president trusts their expertise, he can't micro manage every detail of their job.

Is the truth that they couldn't wake him?

hmmm...it does make one wonder.

And being I'm from Alabama...we have significant experience in electing drunks to public office.

On a serious note...this is where Team Obama's secrecy hurts them. When they hide things as "insignificant" as grade transcripts...more substantial things come into question.

==This is far from what we, as Christians, should be doing. The fact is that we don't know what the doctor told him. What we know is what has been reported in the media. I have not seen the actual doctor's report and I doubt you have. That his doctor recommended "moderation in alcohol intake" does not mean that the President was passed out drunk and could not be awakened. You have made an illogical leap and it seems you have done so with very little factual evidence. This thread should be closed since it is nothing more than rumor and gossip (Titus 3:2).

However, it does pique the conscience a little as to why would a doctor prescribe one to limit alcohol intake? Was there a problem or a over indulgence? Makes one wonder.

I didn't assert anything. I asked a question. What Obama does is my business.

So you mean the doctors and president (any president)may be lying to us about his condition?

I did not say that. I said we don't have all the information and we certainly don't have enough information to suggest that the President was passed out drunk and could not be awakened.

True. The doctor may have been advising him to have a glass of wine each evening for medicinal purposes.

Even Scripture addresses that concept.

IMO - my scenario is more probable than the one that you imagine.

As to Obama not wanting to be awakened for foreign policy happenings - I believe that to be consistent with his lack of interest in foreign policy in general - other than his traveling American apology show.

That's reachin'.

How do you know? We don't have enough information to know what the doctor meant. Seems to me that the suggestion made by targus is just as probable as your question in the op. Since we don't know the context of the doctor's suggestion, we can't know what was meant.
