It seems like all of these 'security' snooping programs are legislated by Congressional law which allows the executive branch to be in charge and does nothing to give the citizen a voice in the oversight....... as such is still managed by appointed officials connected to politics and the WH.

So they say they strip all identifying information? They tell us a lot of things..... like the airport scanners can't record images...... and then we discover that this capacity is in the specifications of the purchase contract..... and another airport demonstrates a breech of trust by releasing pictures of a customer on the internet. How do we know when they tell us the truth? How do we know that invasion of privacy for the sake of homeland security today, wont evolve to a use for targeting individuals or groups because of political or idealogical disagreement?
