Didn't it use to be the law? I thought you had to bead and understand English so you would understand the signs. But got my first license in 1958, maybe times have changed.

If I didn't remember what an awful governor his daddy was, he might have gotten my vote with that remark. But personally, I believe its just grandstanding, trying to pull ahead of the competition with a hot button issue.

I haven't found a candidate yet that suits me fully to get my vote for governor. All ya'll can vote for Dorman Grace for Agriculture Commissioner, well, if you live here that is. Dorman's farm is just up the road a peice from where I live. Good man. Plenty of experience, though not as a politician. Wait, that's a good thing. Good man, not a politician!

In case you are wondering Tim James came in 3rd place - just 270 short of 2nd place. A run-off for the Republican was held.

but the problem is the stinking federal govt, who is putting their nose where it doesn't belong. From the original link: since the Supreme Court ruled that the federal government would be entitled to deprive the state of federal funding for transportation (a substantial sum).

Alabama Governor candidate has said if elected, the DMV test will only be given in English.

Do you think it is a good ideal or a bad ideal?

Is this ideal a true fundamental belief of the candidate, or is he just saying that to get elected?

Do you think that will help him get elected or help him loose the election?

I know I said I wasn't going to post until after our move, but I couldn't let this one go by!

"... or help him loose the election?"

Hmm...

I think that's the way it should be.

I was born and raised in Alabama. I no longer live there, but I'm told that Hueytown, where I grew up, has been completely taken over and destroyed by the "we refuse to assimilate" crowd.
