CLAREMONT, Calif.

CLAREMONT, Calif. (AP) — A rabbi, a minister and an imam walk into a classroom and it's no joke.

The venerable Claremont School of Theology in California has taught Methodist ministers and theologians for more than a century.

In the fall they'll try an unorthodox approach: cross-training the nation's future Muslim, Christian and Jewish leaders in classrooms scattered around Southern California.

Don't tell me liberalism isn't a slippery slope.

No surprises here. Have you checked out Emory University's seminary, Candler? I think they gave an honorary distinguished professorship to the Dali Lama.

One of the great divides in the UMC General Conference (I think I said that right) is that too many of their clergy go away to seminary hungry to learn about the Bible only to return to the field not believing in it anymore. The UMC seminaries are terrible places for biblicism and honest, evangelical theology. Too much of it has been replaced by ridiculous liberal theology.

Just another obvious step for Claremont imho. This is the result of many steps down a dark path for decades.

You'll don't trust God? If Christianity provides the righteous interpretation of this universe and if the Holy Spirit is active then the outcome should be positive.

According to the article, the United Methodist Church is withholding funds from the school over this.

I wouldn't count on it. I spent 14 years in a UMC pulpit and know how they work. They'll make a splash statement and declare funding is being withheld. Claremont will still get their money but instead of it coming from the original funding source it will be filtered through another denominational agency.
