President Obama has not fulfilled his pledge to close the detainee prison at Guantanamo Bay, but he has brought Skype, Playstation3 and "life skills" classes to the detainees at the island facility.

While the 181 men being held in the prison wait to learn their fates after the administration fell through on its January 2010 deadline to move them out, 90 percent now live in a communal environment that includes Skype, the online video chat service, and access to a 17,000-book library...

And what would your plan for the Bush gulag be?

Actually when Obama changed his mind about closing it - it became his gulag.

You do remember that he promised to close it 12-31-2009?

He's about 6 1/2 months late- and counting - with that particular broken promise.

If these men are prisoners of war and enemies who sought to kill americans in war or otherwise, or actually accomplished the deed, then they should suffer prison, be kept in a clean cell with sufficient food and water, but not a hotel.

If they are convicted of crimes against the USA and combatants, then they should be tried by the military and punished according to the law.

But do they have Cable-TV, cell-phone and internet access?

And if so do they have the full Platinum Plan?

Is there a promise that is being kept?

Yes, I suppose there is (or at least the attempt), the promise to "fundamentally transform" America.

This is a common cheap political tactic employed by people who don't know what they are talking about.

Gitmo was never a gulag of any sort. In fact, some prisoners prefer to remain there instead of being repatriated to their homelands, a recent news story that didn't get a lot of run because it dispelled one of the notions that Obama ran on and that billwald repeats.
