I've never heard of a driver going berserk because of a bumper sticker. It's usually bad driving that sets them off, such as getting cut off by another driver, but there is always a first.

The article is stating that a person who has a bumper sticker is more likely to be an aggressive driver, as they have some very held beliefs.

The next time you drive - keep an eye of those who are a bit careless in their driving habits and see how many have bumper stickers, and how many "good drivers" do not have stickers.

Beware! I am blind. Drive carefully.

    I want that sticker too!

    Cheers,

I remember seeing one that might get somebody's dander up.

On the back bumper was one which said "I may be slow but I'm ahead of you."

i live in a city where "road rage" is the norm not the exception. I've had car windows smashed out and came close to loosing my and my wife's life one night due to an incident with a furious driver.

I've found that eye contact is the trigger, not stickers, etc. I've also found that it is best to just let others do what they will, and get out of their way. This sort of goes against my grain, as I am a type A male with over a million miles as a pro driver. I'd rather deal with people on the spot, but there is no future in it. Typically, you care and they, simply, do not... The winner is always the one who doesn't care if they live or die, so I choose to win by avoiding those types.

Honking or flashing lights when someone does something wrong is just gonna get you killed on our roads... Worse still is tailgating, or getting in front of someone and slowing down. Pulling alongside and looking at them, making gestures, etc., will just get you shot. And, law enforcement is never there when you need them (and always there when you do the slightest thing wrong yourself!). :BangHead:

Very well put. I need to remember that, as I am often prone to let others do as they wish, but I voice my displeasure via honk or headlight flash. On my wife's old vehicle, the only stickers she had were running-related. She also had a bike rack, which in itself could trigger a driver's frustration; many drivers have issues with cyclists.

I admit I avoided the driver whose bumper sticker stated, "If guns are outlawed, we can use swords." :tongue3:

Since I carry a pistol and a shotgun in my truck, it'd be hard for someone to kill me in their road rage.

But I've always been fond of the bumper sticker that said, "Are you following Jesus this close?"

Here in the People's Republic of Washington State (perhaps one of the most "progressive" in the Union), guns are more and more becoming a "road rage" problem.

Just recently, an individual inadvertantly (well who knows) cut off another on I-90 and became the bullseye of the offended.

    http://www.kirotv.com/news/22825655/detail.html

Recently another occured where a two year old passenger was actually shot in the leg after a road rage chase.

Before that I remember an account of two Ft Lewis soldiers (an officer and an enlisted man) having a road rage shootout.

    And many others.

Stay in the granny lane if you come to visit in WA State.
