isn't this like refusing to enroll a child because he/she was born out of wedlock ?
I mean, what's the kid got to do with the gay couple's stupidity ?
Or are they "pushing it" knowing that they might be refused because of their sexual "orientation" ?

This isn't mean or unchristian at all. It is VERY smart, IMO. When I taught in a Christian school, I saw first hand what happens when non-believers want their kids in private school. It's a disaster waiting to happen, especially since the "parents" are homese8uals.

What happens when these "parents" want to come to a school program together? What kind of message does that send to the other students? What kind of a message does it send the child to be taught one thing at home, then taught that it's sin when they get to school? Talk about confusing a kid!

The school could face a huge discrimination lawsuit that could close the place down the first time a teacher says anything to irritate the "parents." I don't blame them one bit for not wanting to teach a student whose parents have no regard for the school's beliefs or the beliefs of the other students and their parents.

I can understand the school's position.

A Christian school operates on a set of values - namely Christian values - taken from Scriptures - in accordance with God's law.

It is important that the parents support those same values.

A gay couple obviously does not share one particular Christian value.

This couple is free to send their child to another school - the child is not being unfairly burdened by the school.

Her gay custodians (I am loath to call both of them "parents") already placed the burden on this child.

I can certainly understand where you both are coming from, and agree with the principles, but still, shouldn't the school explain to the child's custodians (I share your loathing with calling them "parents", targus) exactly why their child cannot be accepted ?

wouldn't the child feel like it's his/her fault that she has not been able to go to that school ? because he/she has homosexual custodians ? wouldn't this further confuse the kid ?

oh, I could happily wring the necks of these two homos for what they're putting the kid through just so they can make a political statement (that's what I think they're trying to do here).

Why should this little four year old have any knowledge of this situation at all?

If she knows that she has not been accepted by the school it would no doubt be due to her custodians telling her - not the school.

It is an Anglican school, based on the CNN report. The school also stated that they "do not understand why she (the mom) would want to enroll her child in a school that would undercut her own personal values at home." I tend to agree with them on this. It simply doesn't make sense either way.

I guess the answer to your question depends on the stated goal of the Christian school. Every school is different. From my experience, Christian schools can fit into three broad categories --
    1. A school which has evagelism as a primary goal, where all children are welcome;
    2. A school that that promotes Christian values but does not actively evangelize, where all children are welcome; and
    3. A school that exists for Christian parents in order to provide a Christian education to their children.

Thus, this child might be a fit for schools in categories one and two. Most likely, she would not be a fit for a school in category three.

Our own school fits into the third category. The mission of the school is stated very clearly to all prospective parents: "... exists to serve children from families who are active members of a Christ-centered church by providing a Reformed Christian education emphasizing excellence in the spiritual, academic, physical, and social training of young people to prepare them to serve their communities as worthy ambassadors for Christ."

In addition, the school requires a personal interview with the principal and a letter from your pastor stating that you are active member at your church. Perhaps if the school had done its homework up front (pun intended), they could have avoided this situation.

Homosexuals want to force others to accep their lifestyle. It wouldn't suprise me if it comes out that this was some kind of test case for the homosexual movement.

That is what I think these two are doing.
They don't really care about the kid.
It's just breaking my heart, is all.
Using a four year old kid for political purposes just gets my goat.

Not obvious to me. Not all that obvious that some on this list share many Christian values. Baptist values, maybe.

Schools are providing a service to parents, not to children. The parents are the clientele.

To receive a "child of hmosxual parents" (as if there were such a thing) is to endorse the parental relationship. So, yes. The refusal is right and Christian.

This kind of thing is happening all over, with sodomites using kids and teenagers to further their agenda. We've had two controversies down here in Mississippi recently and I strongly suspect that these two teenage girls were "encouraged" by a sodomite movement to stir the controversies. One was the girl that wanted to bring her girlfriend to prom and ended up on Ellen. The other was a girl who had made herself look like a boy and wanted to be in the yearbook pictures dressed in a tux like a boy. The latter is now suing the school district. I doubt these teenagers would have gone this far and caused such a stir by themselves. The sad thing is, if I am true, they are being used and don't even have the sense to realize it.

I agree wholeheartedly with this and couldn't have said it any better myself. Children (especially teens) can be very cruel. I certainly learned that to be true as I grew up. The child would be rejected by her peers, ridiculed, and told, "Your 'parents' are going to hell", which is more than likely true.

There is NO such thing as a "gay" Christian as I've known some to call themselves. As Paul said, "Such were some of you." WERE--not are. When Christ comes into a person's life, that life changes. Old things pass away and everything is new.
