Then there's the story about Beethoven's "Ode to Joy":

The symphony orchestra's bass players were tired of having to sit through the first three movements with nothing to do. Instead, they decided to visit the tavern across the street. To ensure that the performance would not proceed until they returned, they tied the beginning page of the 4th movement of the conductor's score to the stand. Well, the bass players spent more time at the tavern than they should have.

The result:

It was the bottom of the 9th.
The score was tied.
And the basses were loaded. :tongue3:
