U.S. ethanol consumes about 40 pct corn crop
    Impact on food prices "real"

It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for (U.S.) first generation ethanol," said Gore

He explained his own support for the original programme on his presidential ambitions.

"One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president."

This is one heck of an admission.

He should write a check from his global warming scam money to every American taxpayer to make up for what it cost us so that he could cozy up to the Iowa voters.

This ethanol scam has cost people tons of money. I've had to replace the gas lines on every single piece of gas powered lawn equipment I own in the last year. The lines were eaten up by the ethanol.

I know multiple people that have had the same issue with the gas lines in their boats. Quite a few have had to make major repair on their engines because the broken down gas lines have clogged up the entire engine.

On top of all that, we get less miles per a gallon now.

Good time to be a corn farmer....bad time for everyone else.

    Meanwhile...

To make matters worse, the most powerful and misguided agency in the federal government, the EPA, has decided to increase the percentage of ethanol allowed in gasoline.

    Criminal.

While I would stop at accusing people of being criminals, it is nice to see that sometimes those of us who asked for caution before plunging headlong into a deep economic commitment without the requisite science are vindicated.

That said I will also point out that there are some serious concerns with introducing more corn back into the food system. Always a catch I guess...;)

Gore is possibly my least favorite politician, well now Oboma is probably challenging for that spot quite nicely. However I have to say, I am shocked that he would admit being wrong on this, I didn't think he had it in him, and it is quite commendable of him doing so. The only thing I have ever respected him for, so I hope he appreciates it.

How do you know when Al Gore is lying? How about anytime his lips are moving?
