According to Chuck Shumer anyway.

"So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strong they feel — you know, we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President, and all three of us are going to have to come together and give some. But it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling."

Schumer is typical of the liberal idiots that run the democrat party.

I've often said that if you were to walk into any congressional office at random, pull out a 25 question "pop-quiz" on the Constitution and Bill of Rights (written at a 5th grade level) most of them would fail.

This goes for both parties. Its amazing that so many in our government don't know or understand the basic documents that govern their offices and our nation.

Sort of reminds me when Stephen Colbert interview a Republican Congressman that wanted to put the 10 Commandments up all over the place and asked him to list the 10 commandments....the interview got, um, awkward and really quiet. :)

And most are law school graduates.

Perhaps in his own mind he is correct because he believes the Supreme Court works for and does the bidding of the President of these 57 States?

Schumer is not the only liberal idiot who has said something like that:

John Adams, letter to Roger Sherman, 1789:

In our constitution the sovereignty,--that is, the legislative power,--is divided into three branches. The house and senate are equal, but the third branch, though essential, is not equal. The president must pass judgment upon every law; but in some cases his judgment may be overruled.

What a dolt!

From a 2003 interview between Robert Novak and William F. Buckley:

NOVAK: At the time of this novel, Mr. Buckley, the conservative movement had suffered a calamitous defeat in 1964 with the Goldwater candidacy. Did you ever dream that maybe 20 years, 30 years later, that the Republicans would be in both control -- I mean, control of both houses of Congress, and today would be in control of all three branches, House, Senate, and the White House?

BUCKLEY: Well, the answer is, no, I did not. But that really is a detail. What I was pretty sure of was that the demolition of Barry Goldwater in the election did not destroy the ideals he had.

What a couple of nitwits! They're probably liberals.

Wow. I learned the three branches of government back in elementary school.

And we trust these folks with our tax dollars, health care, and education of our children???

How odd that this did not get any media attention.

Quayle was ridiculed for years for a simple misspelling.

Well, everyone knows that liberals, regardless of how ignorant they may be, almost always get a "pass" from the media. And conservatives must be careful to dot every "i" and cross every "t" or they will be hung high.
