Good sense prevails over agenda driven political scheming once again.

Agreed! I just hope it was truly good sense that drove them to pull the bill. My guess is that they could not get enough votes to pass this thing and rather leave embarrassed, they just pulled it.

Let's hope on the next bill that they refuse to give any medical care to an illegal!

    That's too bad.

    The lawbreakers win again.

I wonder if there is a law I can break and automatically get amnesty and free medical care juast for the breaking?

Maybe for your undocumented amigos, but the citizens are definitely being oppressed. Probably because they're no longer brave.

Wow, so you are saying that we have fewer freedoms than undocumented hispanics. You should try living as one someday. I think you will truly appreciate your current life.

They could go home and straighten out their own country. I would be glad to financially support those efforts. What they are doing is no different than waltzing in your home and taking up residence because things are tough in their own home.

Would you have grace on them and allow them to stay? Some of them cannot afford to live in their own home country. If you saw someone needing help, would you want us to reach out to them and have compassion?

Would you have compassion and let them stay?

If I can't afford to support my family, is it ok for me to break into your house and steal your things? Would you have compassion and let me steal your things?

Yes if they come in legally. But not until then. We need to know who they are. It is far to dangerous to assume they are just peace loving people looking for work. And They need to take care of business in their own country. Do you know how much of Mexico's income comes from the US?

    Matt,

So, you would not have compassion. I pray that their offense of a few dollars does not prevent you from finding grace from God where your sins are much greater than their sins against us.

So, I assume your answer is "no". Would God have grace on you if held by the same standard? We would all be condemned.

What is wrong with Grace? This is America, afterall, and if there is any country in the world that can demonstrate great grace, it should be us.

Grace is given by God who come to Him one single way. Through Jesus only. Of course you completely ignore the danger involved in unfettered illegal immigration. I am suggesting that they come into this country through legal and responsible means only. We could always show grace to everyone who breaks the law. But is that helpful? and why should illegal aliens be lifted up higher than everyone else?

I'm saying that our government is allowing people who are in this country illegally to steal from us. No matter how you slice that, it comes up oppression.

I have had the dubious honor of taking advantage of our health care system lately. One overnight stay was $20K. Why? Because of those who don't pay their bills.

My girl got her lip split one day, and when I went to the emergency room, I waited two hours because of Miguel, Jose, Sophia, Gustavo, Maria, Jesus, etc. who were there with runny noses getting medical attention for free.

    Thieves.

(Of course, after two hours there was no more bleeding. So I took my girl, marched to the desk and said, "I obviously overreacted to this injury. I'm leaving, and I'd better not get a bill." Then we left. Her lip healed up nicely on its own, BTW.)

I haven't said what I would do. Can you simply answer the question, rather than avoiding it?

If I can't afford to support my family, is it ok for me to break into your house and steal your things? Would you have compassion and let me steal your things?
