An NPR executive was caught on camera lambasting the Tea Party as "seriously racist" and claiming that liberals might be, as a whole, more educated than conservatives.

The comments from Ron Schiller, a senior executive at NPR and president of the NPR Foundation, were made during a meeting with two people posing as members of a fictitious Muslim organization. The two activists, who recorded the February meeting on hidden camera, were trying to convince NPR executives of accepting a $5 million donation -- money NPR apparently refused.

This is quite a story and exemplifies the elitism, snobbery and bigotry of many in the mainstream media and on the left in general. The ugly little secret is out; they hate middle America and wish that we would just go away and leave them to build their godless Utopia.

    From MSNBC:

NPR's CEO and president, Vivian Schiller, has been forced to resign, the radio broadcaster's media correspondent said Wednesday, following an undercover sting in which a senior executive was videotaped describing Tea Party members as "racist."

OK, here we have a liberal media executive being forced to resign over public racist comments. So the next time we conservatives want to pull out that old canard, "you just know if this happened on the left, nothing would come of it", remember this incident.

Because his comments were so blatant and damning, NPR knew they had no way out. His comments were also anti-semitic. NPR had no other choice. He got caught, but most likely his sentiments are the same as the people who fired him (they just haven't been caught or are smart enough to couch their statements better).

Not that it never happens in or to the Left, but they control much of the national media (polls indicate that over 90% of national media figures voted Democrat and are Left-leaning), so the ratio of Right versus Left that get "outed" for issues like this is very un-balanced in favor of the Left.

There is a double standard in play for sure.

Hopefully, this will help the Conservative cause to de-fund NPR. Sooner the better. I don't wish them to go away, but I prefer a capitalistic means of support. If they make it in the market, so be it, let the market support them instead of our tax dollars. Why should the citizens they attack fund some propaganda machine that constantly attacks the hand that feeds it?

I find it very interesting that Stephanie Miller on her talk show made a big deal when Gove Walker took a fake phone call - and that he should be repreminded for what he said.

Yet, not a peep from Steph about this phone call.
All she did was complain about how unfair Fox news is.

Keith Olbermann was suspended from MSNBC after it was discovered that he had donated money to several Democrats running for election last fall. MSNBC subsequently declined to renew his contract, in effect, firing him. Is there a more obnoxious liberal in the media than Olbermann?

Helen Thomas' career ended when she made disparaging remarks about Jews and Israel.

I think if you were to make a tally of these sorts of things you would find that they are pretty nearly even, it's just that as conservatives we tend to remember our people getting the axe and forget about the leftists that get forced out.

Olberman came back after 3 days of suspension. He decided to end his contract with PMSNBC, not the network.

They had to deal with Helen Thomas for the same reason they had to deal with the NPR leader. He said it publicly in a way that didn't allow spin.

But, let a Republican congressman write a letter, that he assumed was private, to someone, and let some other government agency "just happen" to discover that letter, and he's gone. Or, perhaps a President, who transitioned the legal team that makes up the White House Counsel, all perfectly within the law and perfectly within the actions of prior administrations, and see if a big deal is made of it.

Sorry, there is a double standard and it is quite evident. I notice that Barney Frank is STILL serving in Congress, even after they discovered a male prostitution ring operating out of his apartment. Ted Kennedy continued to serve after that little water incident, and after that little waitress incident (and multiple other "incidents" that were swept under the rug). A KKK member was also elected to Congress, and he was a Democrat. I can go on, but one either sees this stuff or doesn't and after debating these issues for decades, I've come to understand that not seeing is a disease that cannot be cured.

Hey, thanks for calling me diseased and uncurable for pointing out there are examples on both sides of the aisle.

This incident is another good reason why NPR needs to be defunded.

Just don't take away Harry's cowboy poetry!
