Not quite true. The Triangle Shirtwaist Company was in violation of several safety standards, of the day. The problem, as so often is, was enforcement.

Anyways, the 1920's thank you. After the depression, when orginized crime took over the Longshoreman's Unions, it's been nothing but corruption, extortion, intimidation, nepotism, cronyism, and murder.

 

Not sure where you got that idea. The Triangle fire didn't happen until 1911. There were labor reforms long before that.

 

I don't understand how anyone can wish you a happy _____ day where 150 people died. Makes no sense to me.

The labor movement of the first half of the 20th century helped create conditions that allowed this country to thrive and be a beacon to others about how to advance by treating all people with dignity and respect. I, for one, am thankful for the honest work done by the unions on behalf of the underclass workers who needed a voice.

 

Hey, with labor goons...those are acceptable losses.
