What would you do?

This may be the wrong place for this post but here goes.

As I was watching all the folks dancing over the death of Osama Bin Laden and reading some post on here. The Lord impressed upon my heart this question; would you have tried to lead Osama Bin Laden to Jesus if given the chance, or would you have acted like Jonah?

We all know the evil that this man has created, and this is NOT about being glad he is dead or not. For me it seems to be about my willingness (or lack thereof) to go where I don’t want to, to talk with folks I don’t want to, to bring them to Christ even if I don’t want to.

On one hand I say yes I would, Jesus died for him just as much as he died for me, yet then I think of what he has done and wonder if I wouldn’t have volunteered to be the one pulling the trigger.

Very humbling!

So I ask you the same; would you have tried to lead Osama Bin Laden to Jesus if given the chance, or would you have acted like Jonah?

I like the way Ray Comfort put it: "I'd share the Gospel with him, give him an hour to decide, and then shoot him in the head."

Resoundingly, YESSS!!!!!

I would have tried to witness to him. In fact, I grieve the fact that someone (maybe me) did NOT witness to him. I grieve that Osama bin Laden died, having rejected our Lord and Savior.

Next question I would ask is "What Muslim (Jew, Buddhist, etc.) do I know that I need to speak to about Jesus? Please pray for me as I initiate talks with Jake Cohen, a Jew I know. Ask God to open Jake's heart.

Billwald, I disagree with only one point you made. I (meaning all Christians) am commanded to go into the world, not to wait for the world to seek me out.

Winning souls for Christ is more important than our safety and more important than carrying out that for which we think justice calls. So yes, if I had the chance, I would share the gospel, and I'd pray that God would grant me wisdom to speak His Word and that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart.

Being in eminent fear of death would, I'm guessing, tend to strip away all the lies and pretenses...

Another question is what to do if he gives his heart to the Lord. Do we execute him anyway? Do we take this new, repentant, Child of God and kill him to satisfy our anger and human sense of justice for acts he committed (or rather, ordered to be committed) while he was bound by Satan and his lies and a lifetime of extremist Muslim indoctrination?

Certainly I would share the Gospel with OBL. That is our commission.

I personally wished that OBL had come to the grace of Christ. Who knows how God might have used such a witness in the Arab world? Alas, it was not to be.

On the other hand, the Navy Seals were also carrying out a commission...given them by our Government. Let us remember that God ordained Government in order to give order and protection.

If Bin Laden had come to Christ before 911, it would never have happened. There is no doubt he knew who Jesus was. He rejected him and became the murderer he was.

His eternal fate was decided before the bullet went through his brain. God will use it as He sees fit, whether we understand it or not.

Justice must still be served.

There are plenty of Christians serving prison sentences for crimes committed before their conversions.

Let's not forget that God has ministers that bear the sword to execute His wrath upon evildoers. If God sent me to bin Laden as a minister of the Gospel, then I would present to Him the Gospel, (not that he hasn't heard it.) If God sent me as a minister of His wrath, I would be rather remiss in not cutting him down.

I would know which it was if I perchance met him while I was armed or on my way to church.
