I chose "I don't mess with social networks", but being a Brit, I would probably have just said, "I don't use social networks".

But I have just noticed that the Baptist Board is included in the poll. Do I use that?

But I never imagined that the BB was social networking - a baptist version of "Facebook" or "Twitter".

Is the BB considered a social network? I didn't click it as I wasn't sure if it is.

I am in several Christian forums. I don't like Facebook; there is too much there that is not suitable for Christians, and it is definitely not a Christian Web site. Should Christians actively participate in non-Christian Web sites where God's name is blasphemed and/or not welcome? I joined one such Web site and received an e-mail from one of the moderators saying, "You are welcome to post here, but please do not talk religion." I replied and said, "I will not go where my God is not welcome." Let the Holy Spirit be your Guide as to where you spend your time.

I use Twitter mostly for reading. When bin Laden was shot it was interesting to see it unfold in real time with reports from people in Pakistan. The recent earthquake and hurricane gave personal glimpses into the event as it was happening. However, I rarely post "Tweets".

I have been warned by several friends of mine NOT to get on Facebook, because of the hassles of people wanting to add you to their list of friends and the constant barrage of unnecessary news that people post. But my teen son is on it so I might be forced to join just to see what he's doing on FB.

Jon, you can change your facebook settings so that only your friends can view or post on your wall. You do not have to be public. That way you filter out the riff raff.
