"He had a 111,000 following him on Twitter and maxed out one Facebook page and had to create a fan page to contain the masses," said Pennington's friend Jay Handler. "He had thousands reading his blog everyday."

Pennington died Sunday after taking his life outside of Second Presbyterian Church in downtown Greenville. He leaves behind six children.

Pennington was a graduate of Bob Jones University and worked at Majesty Music and Dr. John Vaughn's [head of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship] Christian school before becoming a leading social media consultant.
