Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15- October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. In recognition thereof, I'm going to highlight some positive contributions made by American citizens of Salvadoran ancestry. You probably won't see them in the mainstream media because the Mexicans are going to hijack this out of jealousy.

First off is the incredibly attractive Christy Turlington. Back in the day, she rocked the world of fashion with her beauty as a supermodel. Now, she focuses on activism for issues which are important to her.

Next is George Melendez Wright. Born to a sea-faring American father and a rich Salvadoran woman, he did a lot of good stuff for the National Park Service. Sadly, he died in 1936 at the age of 31. You can read more about him by doing a Google search.

Last is Joey Castillo. He's the drummer for the hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age.

I also have a secret to tell you all- I know this post is poorly written and filled with information no one cares about. I just wanted to put something out there to get the conversation started. I'm going to make some informative posts about the future of Hispanic Americans and policy proposals relating to that in the days and weeks to come.

Since Caucasians will soon be a minority in the USA, what month should be designated as Caucasian Heritage Month?

People often mistakenly believe that, but it's simply untrue. Whites will retain a strong majority for the foreseeable future.

White People Month can be January, since it snows a lot in January and White People are, well, white.

Hispanic month should be moved to March since everything is still dead from winter and brown. You know, since Hispanic People are brown.

Let me guess - You're in favor of a Jerry Lewis month.

None of these "months" have any significance unless they mess with the teaching in public schools. The significant days are those which result in a paid day off.
