Martial law would not have worked in the case of this one man as he was outside the country. Lincoln suspended the constitution with martial law. This president did the right thing. If President Obaba is guilty then Lincioln is also. The only difference is President Obama had one man killied and Lincoln had thousands along with women and children.

So! Lincoln did not accept their claim. That made them citizens and he had them murder without due process. How many people were murdered by Sherman's march to the sea?
