Authorities foiled an alleged plot that was directed by factions of the Iranian government to bomb the Israeli and Saudi Arabian embassies in Washington and a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday at a press conference.

The criminal complaint, which unsealed in federal court in New York City Tuesday, identified the two alleged plotters as Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam Shakuri, both with ties to Iran, Reuters reported. Arbabsiar has been jailed in New York since September and Shakuri remains at large.

Does the US need another war?
Nope but we do not need to put with bullies either. Send a strong enough message to a bully and they always back down as they are all cowards. If we leveled every government building and military complex they would stop their nonsense.

Since the president can now kill a US citizen without a warrant can he conduct a war without Congress?

The president can call for military action without declaring war and he should. Iran is banking on the idea we have been at war so long we will never attack. That needs to be straightened out quickly and very decisively. Or Perhaps we should just ask them to join us in a quilting bee.

This should not be done without a call from congress. And congress should do this. The President has a 90 period in which he can send out troops without approval from congress. But after that he has not the authority to hold our troops in combat of any sort.

From the article:
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday that the complaints are well-founded and the alleged plot "crosses a line."

She told The Associated Press that, "the idea that they would attempt to go to a Mexican drug cartel to solicit murder-for-hire to kill the Saudi ambassador, nobody could make that up, right?"

Ms. Clinton, I finished reading Consent to Kill by Vince Flynn, a Mitch Rapp novel, recently. In it a Saudi Arabian prince goes to a Mexican drug cartel to solicit murder-for-hire to kill Mr. Rapp, a CIA agent.
