Inside the Mind of an Occupy Wall Street Protestor

A local scribe interviewed some of the OWS protestors in downtown Minneapolis. One of them, Josh Harelin, was asked if NBA players (millionaires), currently being locked out by NBA owners (billionaires), are part of the 99%.

Harein interjected that he didn't consider pro basketball players to be part of the "99 percent'' that the Occupy Wall Street protest claims to represent.

There was a pause and Harein said: "Why are you asking if I support the NBA players?"

The lockout imposed by management, Josh ... the lockout that has postponed the season.

"I didn't know anything about that," Harein said. "I've never watched a game of basketball in my life. When I watch TV, they are shows with meaning -- on ancient aliens, on tangible things from our past."

The Occupy movement has, clearly, outlived its usefulness. We need to challenge the destructive and greed driven practices of the world leaders in finance. We need to stand against their immoral pursuits at the sacrifice of so many who might be benefited.

In every movement there will be a group of people who can't clearly identify or articulate the central tenents of why they are doing this. Certainly this is true for many people sitting in our pews and chairs on Sundays. Does that mean our Occupy Hell movement is wrongheaded?

The Occupy movement has usefulness? I mean, other than to run up the costs of security and repairing the damages in the cities they are in?

Drove by the Dallas bunch a few weeks ago. Looked like a scene out of Woodstock.
