Shouldn't have been carrying to begin with...missions is about bringing peace...not this kind of junk.

When you're in another country you have to abide by their laws. Period.

Still not a peep about this from the IMB or Baptist Press?

More info:

He was attempting to leave the Island on a flight to Canada, but instead was arrested and held in custody 13 days after the loaded firearm was discovered in a mesh bag inside his checked luggage. . . .lawyer Saul Froomkin, representing Mr Haywood, told the court that his client was. . .a missionary with the Southern Baptist Church en route to his Christian mission in Chile. . . .also explained that Mr Heywood had previously performed missionary work in “a not very safe area of the US. . . Heywood was an investor in gold, and his luggage contained 140 gold coins valued at around $250,000, representing a portion of his life savings. . . .Appearing in Magistrates' Court on Friday, Mr Haywood pleaded guilty to possessing the baton.

A Southern Baptist missionary traveling from North Carolina to Chile via Bermuda and Canada?
And with a quarter of a million dollars in gold coin?

Weird.

Another story mentioned that:

His wife and numerous church associates from overseas were in court

Has anyone in North Carolina heard about this/know what church this is?
