Easy to say in Wyoming, were no one lives and there is no industry.

Come to Houston and you may find we need regulations to keep the corporate industry from choking us all to death.

I live in Montana, which once had several industries, that have been regulated out of existance.

I used to live in Massachusetts, which is now littered with empty factories, regulated out of existance.

To the O/P.....

I will most likely die working. Good thing my retirement is bought & paid for.

>Why are they excluding pensions from the "saved for retirement" calculation?

Because companies are stealing pension funds and state and city governments are refusing to fund their employee pension systems. In other words, the USA is a nation of thieves same as other nations. It is our greedy sin nature.

>Regulations have absolutely nothing to do with whether a person saves or not. That is a personal decision.

Agree! It is the same as tithing. I never talked to an old timer who complained that tithing cost them something.

If that is the basis for not including pensions in the saved for retirement calculation then any other sort of savings should not be counted either because any investment could be stolen or fall in value to nothing.

So the headline should be 100% of workers have saved nothing for anything.

I was stunned when I heard this statistic. Sadly there are going to be an huge number of folk that are going to have very unhappy "golden years". Why is it that people will not save for their retirement years?

Why is it considered a right to retire? Where can retirement be supported biblically? Why is it assumed happiness = retirement? I'm in my golden years now raising small children. I'll have more time to work, God willing, when I'm older.

We bought a couple of acres in town that had been part of an "organic" nursery.
If the BIG crash comes it is enough to raise veggies and chickens.
