Iran says it's almost done decoding US drone

We will know if it is true if more drones are captured.
Perhaps, but I would hope, if how it came down according to how Iran says, the US has enough snap to fix the problem before it uses any of them again. I have the feeling we wanted them to have it.

I expect that the drone falling into the hands of Iran was a misfortunate accident, but the lack of action by the Commander in Chief is horrendous!

He is giving away hard earned American military secrets by his inaction, and that is akin to supporting espionage, especially when we could actually do something about this.

I am not saying you are wrong, but what exactly should we do about it short of an invasion?

Saw that several different scenarios were being looked at concerning why the drone went down. A leading is a glitch in the program for landing. Officials mentioned in the article that as for the data in the drone, it was unclear if the Iranians are capable of understanding it usefulness.

I can tell you one thing for sure. Iran has the plane and if we think Iran, perhaps Russia, or China cannot figure that thing out then we are dumber then I thought.

All options are to destroy the unit on-site.
That would be good, but I think it is a little late for that, don't you? If they had done it at the time of the crash or landing, whichever and I seriously doubt they even had/have that ability, it would be different, but even then it would have caused a serious international problem. My guess is that the CIA is out of control here and because they do not have proper oversight they became lax in their handling of the plane and lost it.
I say this because of blaming the President. I do agree all this is on his watch and he holds some responsibility, but I am not so sure he kept us from regaining or destroying the plane. There is just not enough evidence. My guess is the CIA took a chance and did not cover all their bases. They did not play out every scenario and got stung.

Anytime there is a news story regarding classified equipment, spies, or spycraft about the only thing I know for certain is that the media has got the story wrong. We'll never know the truth so I can't get worked up talking about this sort of thing.

Of course it is too late...

Russia plays a role in this as well, with the likely sale of specialized equipment that can intercept and scramble signals.

There is one thing about a Russian. If there lips are moving you can be reasonably sure they are lying and if they have anything new in technology they most likely stole it.

For once we agree... Feels good even if the subject matter sucks.

Oh, and another drone went down... One more to examine. Someone now appears to have some form of signal disruptor that is effective against our technology.

Looks like back to the drawing board.

I wonder how all of this plays off of the Ron Paul debate in the other thread? Paul says that we don't have to fear enemies outside our borders while most of the rest of the world seems to think that we should!

I see that we have enemies yet that do indeed have or are working hard to achieve the means to attack us in our own land.
