It is an interesting find, though it is highly specious.

If we left today we wouldn't get there for something like 2 million years. So it is completely unprovable whether there is life and whether it is intelligent.

I do not believe anyone has claimed there is life on this or another planet beside earth. However it is interesting that it is in a zone that could support life.

I believe there is life on other planets and that God created it. Would it be like life on earth. I believe it would be very much the same as God would have used the same natural laws to create there as he did here. But that is speculation on my part.

I hold that God is much greater than we can imagaine.

This is where many in the fringe scientific community want to head IMHO. They want to find intelligent life so bad they'll jump at shadows. I'm all for exploration and good science but these kinds of ellaborate, unsubstantiated statements are outside the boundaries of reasonable inquiry.

And I don't disagree with you. Though I will say I believe there to be life outside of our solar system it is not intelligent and we won't, in our lifetimes, find it.

The reality is there is no way to definitely prove what we are seeing from such a distance. Not only are the events we are seeing, say on Kepler-22b, 600+ years old, the whole system might have undergone massive change since then.

There is no way to know whether there is life or whether a planet, so far away, can actually support life. The kind of scientific reasoning being used to support such claims is just bad science. We should be able to acknowledge it and call for more sane statements.

Atheistic and secular astronomers understand the Gospel more than professing Christians. If life is found outside earth, it dispels everything to do with the biblical record of the purpose of man and the mission of Christ.

They want to kill Christ. They can't find His bones, so maybe they can steal the birthright of His children.

    But.

There's more to habitable planets than simply being in a star's so-called "habitable zone." A planet habitable to complex life forms has to be in almost every way just like earth: size; number and size of moons; kind of star; position in a galaxy; length of days and seasons; the diversity, distribution and concentration of elements (even the radio active ones); etc. Michael Denton in Nature's Destiny does a masterful job of describing the astounding list of conditions that must be met to host complex life forms, and how the earth is "finely tuned" to do just that.

More astonishing is just how the human form (including it's size) is uniquely fit to benefit from these conditions, and equiped to manipulate them.

What I find interesting is that they make all these claims and no one has ever seen a planet outside our solar system. All they have are computer generated images from radio telescopes and the images cannot tell them anything. All they have is a dot on a scope. Just think about it. We cannot even tell what the planets in our own solar system look like to any great degree. That is why we send probes and even then we don't get total clarity and yet these so called scientists have pictures of planets and what they look like in other solar systems. This is nothing but snake oil salesmen at their height.
It is the same thing with our galaxy. They have made pictures of what it looks like ( a spiral) and no one has ever seen it. We cannot get far enough away to take pictures of it. Yet yet they claim this all to be accurate or highly accurate.
I remember when we first went to the moon. They were so far off base about the moon surface that it is laughable and the moon is less then 250 thousand miles away. These planets are light years away. The old saying is so true. There is a sucker born every minute and these huxters called scientists are using that understanding to the max.
