Barak: Israel 'very far off' from decision on Iran attack

Israel believes Iran itself has not yet decided whether to make a nuclear bomb, according to intelligence assesment to be presented later this week to U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Dempsey.

    < snip >

The Israeli view is that while Iran continues to improve its nuclear capabilities, it has not yet decided whether to translate these capabilities into a nuclear weapon - or, more specifically, a nuclear warhead mounted atop a missile. Nor is it clear when Iran might make such a decision.

    SOURCE . . .

This is very interesting in light of the fact that our government and the corporate media has been treating Iran as if it already had a nuclear weapon for years.

This needs to be repeated . . .

So much for your warmongering neocon heros and the corporate media's credibility. Lies on top of lies to make all their lies sound good. When are you people gonna learn?

    But wait! That's not all!

Despite Misleading Hype, No Government Leaders Think that Iran Is Building a Nuclear Bomb.

American and European leaders say that there is no evidence that Iran is building a nuclear weapon.

Even Israel – which has threatened to attack Iran on its own – now admits the same thing.

Earlier this month, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said:
Are they [the Iranians] trying to develop a nuclear weapon? No. But we know that they’re trying to develop a nuclear capability. And that’s what concerns us.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper confirmed in a Senate hearing – following the release of the classified National Intelligence Estimate in 2011 – that he has a “high level of confidence” that Iran “has not made a decision as of this point to restart its nuclear weapons program.”

Mohamed ElBaradei – who spent more than a decade as the director of the IAEA – said that he had not “seen a shred of evidence” that Iran was pursuing the bomb.

Six former ambassadors to Iran within the last decade say that there is no evidence that Iran is building nuclear weapons, and that Iran is complying with international law.

The International Atomic Energy Agency states:
All nuclear material in the facility remains under the Agency’s containment and surveillance.
In other words, all nuclear fuel is accounted for and is being controlled and monitored by the international agency tasked with nuclear non-proliferation.

    SOURCE . . .

Yep, very interesting indeed. But you know what's even more interesting?

The "majority" of you folks will choose to ignore and or deny this information in the rush to destroy another nation and kill more brown skinned people. Same as you ignored the facts leading up to the slaughter and displacement of thousands of Iraqis and Libyans.

And you have been crying "Wolf!" for years that the US was about to commence war on Iran. Maybe the better question is when are you going to learn Señor Poncho. Seriously, who on this board is calling for war on Iran? And as far as Libya goes, I don't recall anyone here who was in favor of that mess.

It's interesting that you chose to demonize me instead of addressing the issue here but I have grown to expect nothing less of you NS. Besides your memory has always been faulty and you have shown over and over that history is not your strong point.

Who is calling for war on Iran? Let me think a minute . . . supporting a presidential candidate that is in favor of making war on Iran amounts to the same thing as calling for war on Iran or Libya or Syria or Pakistan or whoever.

Your contention that a majority of "you people" want war in Iran and to kill brown people is demonizing right up front.

The bottom line is you claim that a bunch of us are calling for war on Iran, and I don't see it. Iran's leaders continually threaten and rattle swords. We threaten tougher sanctions while quietly calling for more talks. It's a war of words.

Heartburn? You think you got it rough? I just spent the last few days recovering from my second arteriogram. The "collagen plug" plug didn't hold and I leaked a pint of blood on the floor before the nurses could get it to stop. But enough about my vacation.

I'm glad to see you still got some honor and courage NS and refuse to be a cowardly bushwacker like InTheDark.

Yeah yeah yeah I've been saying we were going to war with Iran for a long time. Your right about that. Fer sure. Fact is we've been at war with Iran for sometime. Or don't you remember all the articles I've posted showing how we were arming and training MEK a known terrorist group to blow people up? That's illegal by our own laws and international law. I do believe.

Well what do ya know Israel has been arming and training these terrorists too!

U.S. officials confirmed today that Israel has been funding and training Iranian dissidents to assassinate nuclear scientists involved in Iran's nuclear program.

The claim has already been levelled by the Iranian government who believed that Mossad, Israel's secret service, have been arming dissidents with the terrorist organisation the People's Mujahedin of Iran (MEK).

Last month Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, 32, a chemistry expert, was killed in a brazen daylight assassination when two assailants on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to his car in Tehran.

SOURCE Need more to ignore and deny? CLICK HERE

You'll probably disagree but I'd call that an act of war. And very hypocritical to boot! All this talk about "fighting terrorism" and it turns out the USA and Israel are the biggest terrorist supporters on the planet.

Of course in this article the US tries to pretend it hasn't done any wrong but if you'll think hard you may remember but I doubt it highly all the articles I've posted that show the US is just as guilty of supporting this same terrorist group.

So you see my friend we're already at war with Iran. We don't "declare" wars anymore we provocateur them until there ample is "justification" to overtly attack and destroy. I've been saying we were going to war with several countries for a long time and I've been right. All the while you were blindly denying the obvious as usual. You probably don't recall this on the count of your faulty memory or more specifically your selective memory but . . . in 2007

"President George W Bush has given the CIA approval to launch covert "black" operations to achieve regime change in Iran, intelligence sources have revealed."

    < snip >

"Under the plan, pressure will be brought to bear on the Iranian economy by manipulating the country's currency and international financial transactions.

Details have also emerged of a covert scheme to sabotage the Iranian nuclear programme, which United Nations nuclear watchdogs said last week could lead to a bomb within three years."

Bit of a lie here too! If you'll take a gander up yonder it's now admitted Iran hasn't even decided whether or not to build a nuclear bomb yet. But let's continue . . .

"However, the CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan." source

Here again we're supporting another terrorist group to blow things up and kill people in Iran. Another illegal act of war to my way of thinking.

Turn off the tv and learn what's really going on in the world. It might not cure your heartburn but you'll be a whole lot more interesting if you can actually discuss reality for a change instead of ignoring and denying the obvious while amplifying the "official corporate version" of world events

Mainstream Reports: The U.S. and Israel Support Terrorists

America and Israel Support Iranian Terrorists, According to Reports

Senior U.S. officials say – according to NBC news – that Israel is training and supporting Iranian terrorists:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXCIiQA3nnM&feature=player_embedded

I noted last month that the U.S. is as well:
The Mujahideen e Khalq (MEK) … along with its political arm, the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI), is listed by the U.S. State Department as a terrorist organisation.

Interestingly, the Bush Administration – and especially Dick Cheney – helped to fund the MEK (see confirming articles here and here).

And the New York Times, Washington Post and others are reporting that Rudy Giuliani, former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former national security adviser Fran Townsend and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey are supporting the MEK as well.

    Glenn Greenwald notes:

There are numerous Muslims inside the U.S. who have been prosecuted for providing “material support for Terrorism” for doing far less than these American politicians are publicly doing on behalf of a designated Terrorist group.

    ***

Yet here we have numerous American political figures receiving substantial fees from a group which is legally designated under American law as a Terrorist organization. Beyond that, they are meeting with the Terrorist leaders of that group repeatedly …. And, after receiving fees from the Terrorist group and meeting with its Terror leaders, these American political figures are going forth and disseminating pro-MEK messages on its behalf and working to have it removed from the Terrorist list.

    ***

What they are providing to MEK is the definitive “material support.”

    CONTINUE . . .

What a total lie the "war on terror" is. How is this foreign policy of hypocrisy and criminal activity protecting our national interests? This should be a wake up call to the folks that have been defending this insane foreign policy and the state sponsors of terrorism that have been running it.

    Will it? I hope so.

The MEK supposedly renounced violence in 2001 (You know, the way Iran has supposedly renounced nuclear weapons!).

At any rate the MEK are Iranian exiles who oppose the rule of the mullahs in Iran, really their only effective opposition. It is obvious why the US or others might support MEK.
