You know what CTB? When I head for the polls in a few days, I'll be voting for Santorum in spite of his views on birth control? Why? Obama is threatening my religious rights. Romney will make a bigger mess of the economy than we already have. Eye of Newt is a good example of a Washington fat cat. Ron Paul will ruin US foriegn relations. All that is left is Santorum and his stinky views on birth control. Views that won't amount to a hill of beans when set against the culture of Washington. But perhaps he will repair some of the stuff Obama has pulled with health care and we have a chance that he won't drag the economy down farther with another endless war in the Middle East and more deregulation of business that got us into this mess to begin with. (eventually we are going to deregulate ourselves right back into a depression)

I put the OP up merely for information. There is a long time to go before the election and much can happen. But if the GOP really wants to win they need to become more friendly to women and Hispanics. It is fairly probably the GOP will loose Arizona in the presidential election. Just friendly advice.

Women don't flip from conservative to liberal just because some talk show host called one woman a name or any of the other manufactured controversies that the Demoncrats are making up.

I'd have contraception covered under a single-payer healthcare plan.
What about abortion and "gender reassignment surgery"?
If not, on what basis would you be choosing what to provide and not provide under a single payer system?

I'll answer that question once you explain how those two things and contraception are comparable.
Some people consider them all to be health care.
So why are you choosing contraception and not abortion or gender reassignment as covered under your ideal system?

Because I'm pro-contraception and anti-elective abortion. I'm also against gender reassignment surgery but I don't get fired up over it like I do with abortion so I'm not really all that concerned about whether it's covered.
And if Obama decided that abortion and gender reassignment were required to be covered by health insurance and that your church was required to provide that coverage to all of it's employees?
What would you thoughts be?

I wouldn't like it. However, that's not what's going on. Furthermore, in my health care plan, the employer wouldn't provide coverage for anything.
How do you know that would not happen?
Imagine it were to happen so that you can understand how those who are opposed to contraception on a moral basis - such as the Catholic Church - feel about what the government is unconstitutionally forcing them to do.
How would you feel if Obama were to decide that health insurance must cover abortion and that your church must provide it to their employees?

Well, if you're pro-contraception then you might be guilty of using an abortifacient. Life begins at conception and if you willingly use a drug that can abort a fertilized egg, then you are violating your own conscience. Ultimately, that's not the real issue... it's using birth control to circumvent the will of God.
