    http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/2012/04/30/gateway-sexual-activity-banned-in-tennessee/

"The Tennessee Legislature has sent to the governor legislation which orders teachers to “exclusively and emphatically” promote abstinence while banning anything deemed “gateway sexual activity.”

"Drafted by a Christian group, the Family Action Council of Tennessee, the law allows parents to bring charges against a teacher for allegedly condoning “gateway sexual activity.”

"Such groups as Planned Parenthood, which have offered sex education programs in schools, could face $500 fines in the Volunteer State.

"The legislation is product of a Republican legislature elected in 2010. “Gateway sexual activity means sexual contact encouraging an individual to engage in non-abstinent behavior,” said State Rep. Jim Gotto, a Republican and chief sponsor of the legislation."

Christians finally taking a stand. Hopefully we can start getting the schools to stop teaching the religion of evolution or at least have both taught. Then maybe just maybe we can see prayers back in school instead of the athieistic agenda being pushed in our schools.

Bible belt crazies? Hardly! This is concerned parents and citizens having a proper voice in how their children are educated, and they are being good, responsible Christians.

It's not Planned Parenthood's job to teach kids about sex--it's the PARENT'S job to decide how and when that is taught.

Good for them for training their children properly!

Most of the Southern States fall into the bible Belt from what I have seen, Tennessee is the northern most portion of the bible belt.

The reality is the sexual revolution has done great harm to people, families, and this nation. The bottom line is that God knows what He is talking about when it comes to sex and families. And He should since He created both.

Now, for the sake of argument, set aside the Bible for a moment. What impacts society for the better, a conservative approach to sex and families or the liberal practice that reduces sex to a meaningless act. Even secular counselors will tell you that casual sex and sex crimes do not help anyone. No amount of sex, drugs, or alcohol will fulfill the cravings that drive people to misuse and abuse those things.

Your post is very correct. Everyone always thinks that the Lord's standards for living life are denying a person fufillment, fun, or whatever the case. Nothing could be further from the truth. Even absent of being a Christian, if one were to follow all the guidelines in the Bible for living a daily life, that life would be much more fulfilling than those whose life is full of rampant vices.

    Bill,
Monty brought up an excellent point.

Exactly why is this a "Bible issue?" It is a moral issue. True - moral issues and Biblical issues are often - but not always - the same.

Bill - would you be upset if a teacher taught kids how to do drugs. - and if you say - "but drugs are illegal" - How about if a teacher taught certain "four letter words". How about getting into a "R" rated movie, or any other situation ethics examples.

(if my examples are not good enough for Bill - can you all think of any others?)

disclaimer - do not confuse Bill with "th1Bill"

(If the decision was mine) Hopefully I would not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

What baby is it that you think is being thrown out with the bathwater with this proposed legislation?

What is the matter, are Poncho and I getting too boring for you? Time to move on, huh. It seems you could at least think up a new style of provocative question, you know, the indirect question that implies your victims are too stupid to answer the post.

If you want to see insipid remarks, look in the mirror.

How exactly does one "see" a remark of any kind in a mirror?

Considering the ad hominum posts on this thread, I am closing it without prejudice. (W/O prejudice means a thread on the same topic can be started, if y'all can keep it on the OP and not get to questioning each others' intelligence or lack thereof.)
