Free birth control can cut abortions by 100%

Lets see - no immoral behavior should do it

However, not everyone shares the same morality. This yields tangible results across the board and prevents the aborting of the unborn. A good thing.

How is birth control wrong? And do you seriously put giving out condoms in the same class as abortion. No wonder rational people ridicule some in the Christian community.

In other words, let a fetus be aborted rather than hand out condoms. Good choice. (Facepalm)

That isn't going to happen. Even if it were to, why not save them until then?

Wow. Birth control means less pregnancies. You libbies get smarter every day.

This sets up a false narrative. We either supply free birth control, or abortions. Personal responsibility is nowhere in the equation.

I'd like to see this broken down to homeschool/public school blocks. Which demographic "needs" free birth control.

I've been TOLD by seeming experts (doctors, my own children's doctor, literature at work) that the highest rates of unwanted pregnancies occur among women in their twenties/early thirties.

The majority of people I know that use birth control are married couples.

The "if they had morals" argument doesn't work for the majority of what is being called a "problem."

I'd like to see the same breakdown.

How many homeschooled, married adults need other people to pay for their birth control ?

This is a loser issue. There is no way you will convince intelligent Americans that they need to foot the bill in order for "the poor" to be able to have sex with no consequence.

And as people find out their tax dollars are already funding it, I expect this to take a front seat. The left should have left this one alone.

If you can't buy slaves then breed dalits.

    For Baptists:

    World English Dictionary
    Dalit (ˈdɑːlɪt)

    — n
Formerly called untouchable a member of the lowest class in India, whom those of the four main castes were formerly forbidden to touch

[from Hindi, from Sanskrit dalita , literally: oppressed]

Go ask the people in your church. Many of the women in churches I've been in go to clinics to get reduced cost or free birth control pills. By themselves, they're going to cost around $600 a year and then the cost of the doctor visits and exams associated, so they take advantage of being able to get those visits, exams, and the pills for either free or a fraction of the cost.

I'd imagine that you could do an internet search for the information. Here's the first one I ran into about abortions:
"Women between the ages of 15 and 19 account for about 19% of all abortions; women 20 to 24 account for another 33%; and about 25% of abortions are obtained by women who are 30 or older." From: http://www.prochoice.org/about_abortion/facts/women_who.html

I don't see one right away about the average age of people using birth control, but like I said, it's pretty obvious just from looking around and living. The majority of students are not using birth control and are not as active as adults (though yes, many are) while most of the adults I know are active and use birth control. Most of the adults I know are married. How many of your friends that are not naturally sterile have a ton of children? If not, they are likely using birth control.

It's also just common sense. Most married people are having a regular relationship and want to control when/how many children they have, or you'd be seeing the majority turning out a baby every other year or more. (I have three in 2 1/2 years!)

People tend to think the worst of teens and that they're the ones all running around, when in reality, only a very small fraction of teens end up pregnant compared to older couples/married couples. That's why a pregnant teenage girl turns heads! People aren't as used to seeing a teen as an adult. That's even obvious in the link provided in the opening post.

I'm not going to discuss birth control with the women in church.

I fail to see, in any of that, why birth control should be publicly funded.

All that proves is that the morality issue is not constrained to the teen years....which we really already knew didn't we?

Women of various ages are having abortions. Sex for married people is not the moral issue, abortion is the moral issue.

The majority of birth control users are really married people? If that is true all that proves is something else we already know....older, married people have better self control and better decision making abilities that hormone crazed teenagers and young adults.

How many babies are murdered every year? How many have been murdered every year since "the pill" was made readily available?

I'm not arguing that abortion is moral or in any form okay. I'm stating that there is a misconception over who uses birth control and who has the most "unwanted" pregnancies.

I'm even pretty doubtful about whether birth control is okay. I think we've come to expect that children "deserve" to have this, that, and the other and that drives people to have less children in order to support them in the way society keeps trying to tell us is best. There are also methods of birth control, though less accurate, than medications and those can be used without fear of them unintentionally causing an early abortion.

How many of you who don't want to pay for birth control are also willing to support the child on welfare for 18 years?

Neither are the governments responsibility. As an individual and as a family we, as Christians, do what we can to help those in need.

The tax payers do not need to be in the financial hook for irresponsible people. Zip up your pants and quit blaming everyone else.
