The unions have truly gotten way out of control. They spout off that they get workers better salaries and even save lives with better working conditions. That all is true but they have gone crazy on the political side and have all but ruined good businesses by demanding very high wages and astronomical benefits. I know of several auto workers who draw huge retirment checks ever since they turned 55. Must be nice but it is out of control and most businesses cannot stay a float these days, just look at Hostess. IMO the auto businesses wouldn't survived unless the taxpayers had bailed them out as we did. We should not have done that, but Uncle Obama has deep pockets (ours). I couild go one, but this video speaks volumes,...thanks for the post Rev.

Do you believe Union members should physically attack others?

It depends. People will go to extremes when their livelihood is threatened.

Generally no, physical confrontation should be avoided as much as possible, but sometimes there is just no other way.

I see nothing Christlike in their actions. No one's livelihood is threatened - except for the livelihood of the Union bosses and those who draw a salary off the sweat of hard-working people and spend the dues money to support Democratic candidates.

After looking at the video of these thugs and watching Fox News tonight showing video of the ruins of Detroit, it reminds me of what Bosnia and Iraq looked like after years of bombings. Looks Like Detroit is a loss.

The crazy thing about the whole "right to work" protests is that the union folks are essentially saying that the worker must be forced to accept their protection in exchange for union protection. Then, if you don't, you are subject to some kind of assault. Kinda like the mafia.

Excuuuuse me, yes Mr. Crowder and his folks represent opposition to the union demonstrators. But, it wasn't like they were a bunch of Pinkertons, Baldwin Felts men or even industry management types.

Really? Usually physical or verbal abuse /confrontation is used when one side cannot win in the arena of ideas and debate. I hope they aren't mixing the concrete to fit the RTW people with new shoes. These guys in the video really looked like scary thugs to me. I see the USA turning into Greece soon with violence like this all over America.

There is no place for violence over this law. So, employees no longer have to be in a union as a condition of employment...yeah good reason to burn down the statehouse (Is there a sarcasm smilie?). My state in Right-to -Work. Guess what... there are still unions here.

At no point in the clip did Crowder threaten anyone's livelihood.

    You've got to be kidding.

Please tell me that you don't actually believe what you've just said.

Robert, are you familiar enough with the history of anti-union violence to indentify Pinkerton and Baldwin-Felts?

You mean when there's no other way to LEGALLY silence your opposition? Then it's ok to use brutality to shut them up? Because that's obviously what they want!

So, the laws of the land should not apply to unions?

Union violence is legal at the Federal level. There was a Supreme Court decision in 1973 Enmons case that said union violence was permissible when it was used in the “pursuit of legitimate union objectives.” The link below describes a case where someone was stabbed in the neck, yet the AFL-CIO has filed a friend of the court brief in support of the stabbers. This is from last year, it does not look like it has gone to trial yet.

    So much confusion!

I think you know what I meant. Regardless, I have no intention of answering each of these questions, which will be followed by another round of questions, which will be followed by...

I support unions. When I have worked at union shops I have never had a problem joining and paying my dues. I resent workers who will profit from union benefits, yet refuse to pay. Like I said, violence sometimes has its place.

Robert the targets of the unions actions were strike breakers\scabs, company officials, nor Pinks\Baldwin Felts men. They were citizens demonstrating for their POV. The problem is many folks aren't looking at the unions place in the work place. They are looking at the power their dues give them in the political arena.
