Cuz the 23 other countries on that list are definitely a cadre I want to keep up with.
I've been very disturbed that so many evangelicals I know have so quickly jumped to defending gun rights. Rather than discussing how the Gospel can move forward in the New England area, they seem almost fanatical about vocalizing support for gun rights. I'm saddened by this.
It saddens me that when the people give up one Constitutional right they don't understand they may have to give up another one shortly thereafter.
How far are we from pastors being free to read from the Bible, to their congregations, without fear of being arrested for hate crimes?
Further, for Christians supporting the ban of firearm ownership in the US by other Christians, is the solution to stopping the traffic in illegal guns the same as it has been for illegal drugs?
Lastly, has all discussion on how the Gospel can move forward in New England stopped? That comment reminds me of the news media. For example, when Michael Jackson died, it seemed that all other news ceased to exist until after his funeral. It didn't and I suspect that those in New England are still continuing their efforts to bring others to Christ.
I can't speak for anyone else. All I know is that our church has not stopped reaching out to others regardless of what was in the news. Elections, election results, war and turmoil in the Middle East, horror in the news, etc. didn't matter. If anything, rather than stopping our efforts, these events give even more emphasis on the need to reach out while we still have the freedom to do so.
