(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) vowed Wednesday to fight any effort by the Obama administration or members of Congress to enact gun control initiatives.

“We live in a republic, not a dictatorship,” Duncan said.

“The Founding Fathers never envisioned executive orders being used to restrict our constitutional rights.”

He added: “The president should not be able to act unilaterally when it comes to our constitutional rights. Executive orders were meant as a way for the president to implement legislatively passed laws, not to make law.”

I'll ask again: what about the military?

They take a vow to defend the Constitution. If Obama's acts of late are not direct assaults on the Constitution, then nothing is.

Maybe it's time for the Army to march on Washington.

    won't happen.
    it's a political military.
only difference between US military and communist China's is that the former is allegedly run under a republican democracy while the latter is under the party itself.
    I hope I'm wrong.

Actually there is the Oath Keeper movement. Many veterans, current troops, and law enforcement personnel have been stepping up in a preemptive move. They are making it clear that there are several orders they will not obey. The main ideal....they will not disarm Americans. They take their oath to defend the Constitution seriously.

My guess is that they will allow Obama to make the next move and then stand. I don't see a preemptive strike. This has to happen this way so its a clear forceful move by Obama forcing their hand, as opposed to open rebellion started by citizens.
