I was at dunkin' donuts having coffee and happened to look up at the tv there and they were just finishin' news on cigs to soon be classified as a regulated drug.
I don't know if I got it right, but cigs could've stood for tobacco products like cigarettes ?

I ain' no smoker, but it seems to me in this once free country if somebody wanted to waste his lungs or risk cancer with that thing, he should be free to do so without government telling him he can't because he needs a doctor's prescription.
now, somebody in another thread sometime ago laughed about people saying this administration is turning this free, capitalist country into socialism or communism and says, for example, where are the nationalized industries ?
Socialism and communism have many facets and many faces, and controlling the population is one of them.
This government is now telling Americans they MUST have health insurance, or else...
A city government is now telling Americans they MUST lose weight and not drink regular soda...
The congressmen and some senators, led by this president, all sworn to protect and respect the Constitution now wants law-abiding citizens' rights to own firearms limited to less than 10 shots and for certain types of firearms to not be available to ordinary, law-abiding citizens as punishment for crimes committed, NOT BY THEM, but by loonies and goons.
If that ain't communist dictatorship disguised as a fatherly figure, I don't know what it is....

 

In addition to the above comment, we just came back from our tax preparer and our federal tax return is more than a 1000 dollars less than it was last year, and our combined income bracket was just a little over 50K.
I thought it was supposed to be rich people getting taxed ?

My bride and I were talking about this last night. No president has served and was free of detractors. That is reality. No man will be liked by everyone. No man will have his policies liked by everyone. What is different? There has been a fundamental shift from having a few scattered people and groups being vocal about their dislike of a presidents policies. What we have now is multiple states passing laws to counter the agenda of the president. We also have law enforcement and military personnel (active, reserve, and veteran) being vocal about their dislike for the policies as well. These men and women are even banding together against these policies and doing so very vocally.

 

Brother I am fairly certain you've read George Orwell's book titled "1984". Ole George just got the date wrong.

 

Did George say in his book the president of that year will require that generals who serve under him signify and affirm that they are willing to order their troops to shoot at US citizens ?

I dont recall him emphasizing the U.S. Constitution.....in the USA, we do not want our service people being separated from the people we serve....highly unlikely any Marine (cant speak for other branches) would ever draw down on our own citizenry.
