To be fair this thread doesn't make mention of either veteran status, or faith, in either the title, or the comment.

But I would like to know why I can't find this on a reputable news source.

The quote from Raw Story in the OP leads with it.

I suspect that made the story particularly attractive CTB .

Are these links reputable enough?

By the way, I made no judgment in the OP other than to say it was a tragedy ... both for the man killed, his family and the man arrested for the shooting. Do you not agree it was a tragedy?

I made no comment about gun control, but I sure got a lot of knee-jerk reactions.

It is entirely plausible that someone attempting to run someone else over would end up being shot in the left side of his head.

Isn't it more plausible that the driver was shot in the left side of the head as the homeowner stood outside the driver's door as the driver was panicking and attempting to turn around in the driveway? I go back to the fact that the driver was killed with one shot from a .22 handgun. The fact that there are tire marks near the bottom of the driveway, the fact that it's difficult to get a head shot with one bullet if you were about to be run over with a car, etc. etc. etc. etc.

No, I don't believe it is more plausible. It is also very possible he was a good shot. He also could have gotten lucky. Either way, a single shot to kill someone, even with a .22, is not as hard as you think. A couple of years ago, before we started homeschooling again, one of my sons had a classmate (6th grade) murder another classmate with a single shot from a .22.

Must be a miracle bullet shot by the homeowner. Usually when someone is about to be run over the driver is looking straight ahead at the victim in front of the car and the target the shooter would have is the driver's face through the windshield. But what do I know...

Yeah because who would move to the side as a car that was trying to run you over.

No miracle is required to make this happen.

Have you watched the video(s)? Have you seen where the tire marks are on the driveway? It's clear the car was LEAVING the homeowners house.

I did watch the video. The car left the property. Of course it left. That's not news. The car made marks on the ground. Again, who would expect this not to happen? What is not clear is when those marks were made in the course of the confrontation.

Regardless of where the car was when the driver tried to run the homeowner over it is still self defense.

Guys none of us were there. No one knows what exactly happened. There is no room or point in debate on this. Good grief

True. I just got tired of the liberals and their media overlords rushing to judgment on all these events.

The man is innocent until proven guilty.
