I only heard this from a friend, no verification .... but he said that some state law enforcement agencies are saying that they won't enforce any new federal gun laws that they feel are counter 2nd amendment.

They say if the feds won't enforce immigration laws, but pick and choose, they will also have cafeteria style enforcement. Just 'what you want.'

Right! Cherry picking which laws to enforce seems to be teaching lawlessness.

They've been watching too much "Law and Order" and not reading the Constitution enough. Federal law does NOT trump state or local law.

    The 10th Amendment
    http://www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/10th-amendment.html
(History, intent, and how it's been watered down)

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Much of the 10th Amendment rights were given up when the American people began looking to the Federal government to help them. FDR led the way with the New Deal programs, putting many on the Federal payroll in the depression.
Oldtimer, thanks for the history and how it has been water down on the 10th.

Well that's the thing. Can one really give up one's rights? Does inaction or ignorance of an individual endow another party with authority it did not possess prior to his usurpation?

Yes, one can give up their rights.

Uncle Sam: Obey my rules and I'll help you build "roads and bridges". If you want my contracts, your workers must be paid according to my rules. If you want me to help educate your children, you'll take prayer out of schools.
