Bush spend most of his days spending time with the very troops he sent into harms way. He is very often, even today in the hospitals with them, he is on fundraisers like bike rides and he personally participates in them. He looks as many of them in the eye as he can every week.

If this supposed vet did not know this then his existence is in question.

I expect he knows. In what you expressed it seems to me that your missed why he is so angry. Read the letter again carefully. The reason seems quite clear.

I am not sure what you mean by "his existence is in question". Can you explain that phrase for me. Thanks.

Frankly one of the many major reasons I would never want to be president is that I do not know how I could live with myself, or ever get a good night of sleep if I had sent young Americans into harms way and so many came back with shattered lives, as this young man did. Even if it had been the most justifiable of wars I would still feel that way ... and if the was proved to be an error, or unjustifiable then it would be much worse. That comment is a bit off topic, but I thought I would express my feelings.

    Who started the war?

Who voted against expanding the war?

Which administration was in office when this young man's life was totally shattered?

Do you have any feelings of sadness that so many young American lives were lost or shattered?

Do you have any sympathy for this young man?

Everyone knows that the Democrats agreed that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Many leading Democrats voted for the war in Iraq.

If former leaders can be tried routinely, then the GOP can try some people when they take power again. That could be Biden's slogan in 2016--vote for me so that I don't have to stand trial for what I said and did.

    Hussein did.

    Irrelevant pertaining to the op

Also irrelevant as there are more than one branch of government

Of course, even if the anger is being misdirected.

Crabtownboy, if you were as sick of the war as I am, you would vote a candidate in who would end it. I lump you into the the rest of the phonies who are only against wars they think republicans started. You have been silent on team zero's foreign policy, which looks just like Bush's.

I have more respect for people who support the war, than I do people who still seek to blame, instead of weorking for peace.

My sympathies to the young man--but he presumes too much. He doesn't write on my behalf, nor does he reflect my personal thoughts and views.

Truly a heart wrenching letter--a similar one could have just as well been written by vets of wars perpetuated by the Obama administration in their middle eastern misadventures. There really doesn't seem to be that much difference between the ill-advised policies of either W or O.
