John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. What do you think the Lord means born of water? Baptism, Natural birth,Holy Spirit or scripture?

The best commentary on the bible is the bible. Just keep reading.

"Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

"Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Born of water = born of the flesh.

Born of the Spirit = born spiritually.

Two births. One physical. One Spiritual.

TC got it exactly right and the reason Jesus said this was to address the issue that the Jews thought that they had a relationship with God based on the birth heritage as Jews. Jesus was letting this Jewish religious leader know that physical birth was not enough to see the Kingdom of God.

I disagree with that but respect it. I think as you said the "The best commentary on the bible is the bible". Ezekiel 36:25–27 I believe it means the word.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the WORD of God, which lives and stays for ever. Ephesians 1:13 In whom you also trusted, after you heard the WORD of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 5:26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the WORD. "emphasis mine"

I believe this is the best interpretation.
I see merit for the interpretation of it referring to the Spirit.
Saying it means baptism is classic eisegesis. Nothing in the passage is about baptism.

    Isn't Jesus the Word..John 1:1?
So you believe in two births..the Word and the Spirit?

No I believe in a singular spiritual birth. What does the Holy Spirit use to convert a soul?

Problem is that has nothing to do with the context of that passage.

It is being cleaned on the inside by His word for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when it takes place, not just cleaning of the outside for people to praise and glorify you, while on the inside you are more evil than the one praising you.

What is motivating you, what is your motivation?

jn3 is speaking about the water of seperation:
    Numbers 19

    King James Version (KJV)

19 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

2 This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:

3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:

4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:

5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:

6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.

9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.

10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.

In verse five Christ gives the qualifications of being born again and if water is flesh then wouldn't being born naturally be a qualification ? If water means flesh then that would be what Nicodemus being a Jew would want to hear wouldn't it ? But in verse five if Christ was pointing out to Nicodemus that to be born again you would have to be born of the word and the Spirit it would not take anything away from verse six where he denounced the natural birth.
