In a classic case of "now you tell me," the Associated Press reports today that a whole swath of people who like their health insurance might be losing it. You see, ObamaCare requires all Americans get the equivalent of a Cadillac health plan. Millions of us don’t have Cadillac plans, which means that we are about to be in violation of government policy.

State insurance regulators say many people who buy their own health insurance could get surprises this fall: cancellation notices because their policies aren't up to the basic standards of President Barack Obama's overhaul.

These people, and some small businesses, will have to find replacement plans _ and that has some state officials worried about consumer confusion.

The changes don't seem to square with one of the president's promises: "If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan."

Can you believe this is happening in America? The government is telling us what kind of health insurance coverage we have to purchase.

Why not? States set minimum standards for auto coverage.

Why is it liberals struggle so much to make legitimate comparisons that are actually equal in nature?

And that minimum standard is usually liability.

Using your analogy: We're being told we can't go with just liability insurance. We have to get comprehensive coverage, whether we can afford it or not.

Using your analogy: When we buy a car, and owe money on it, the lender can dictate (and often does) the level of insurance. How does that equate to health insurance? Are you saying that the government owns us, so they can require that we have more than just liability insurance?

You are mentioning a big misconception!!!

States/Commonwealths require you to have minimum standards to protect other people. You are not required by law to cover you vehicle for your personal loss.
Now, your auto finance will require you to have insurance to cover damage to your vehicle due to your negligence

    Time to pay the piper

We, the people should: Fire the whole crew inside the DC beltway and start over(probably state capitols too). Outlaw incumbency. Reduce bureaucracy by 50%. Give the savings to the Wounded Warriors.

    Restart WPA---Roads and bridges.

    Peace.

Driving a vehicle is a choice. No one absolutely needs to drive.

Getting sick is not a choice. People need to live.

Just like free phones, far too many didn't recognize the "carrots" dangled in front of them. Thus, no need to read the bill before it was passed.

Sorta reminds me of clear cutting a forest. Especially a mature one with an abundance of plant and animal habitat well suited for the region. Proclaim all the advantages of clear cutting. Silence, by whatever means, those opposed.

Cut down the trees! The bare ground reveals the truth. Then, comes the cries of dispair over what has been lost and cannot be rectified in a lifetime or two.

MP, since you see no evil in anything Obama does, perhaps you'd like to take a swing at defending Obamacare in California.

You're also the one who stated that the GOP is morally and ethically bankrupt. It would appear that the liberals have their own problems of being morally and ethically bankrupt.
