Since you asked for a new topic...

    http://www.news9.com/story/22829814/new-details-in-deadly-officer-involved-shooting-in-downtown-okc

The gist of the story: Rumor has it his friends tried to wake him up for the concert, but he was drunk and wouldn't wake up, so they left him in the car to sleep. Is this true? I don't know.
What followed is in the story.

Is this justified? Did they not have a minute or more to come up with some type of plan (besides shooting him eight times) for what they'd do in case he did reach for the weapon, before they woke him up?

Or do you take the risk of death by being passed out drunk in your car with a weapon on you?

Would you have reached for a weapon if you woke up to banging and yelling while you were asleep in a car? (I would, but I also am not the type to get drunk and pass out in a car in a public place, but if I did...I don't think I should be shot eight times either, maybe just slapped upside the head really good for being stupid)

well, the guy is dead so all we got left to rely on would be the law enforcement side's stories and they all gon' synchronize their versions, so ......what I can't understand is, if you choose to be a cop, the you know you will be encountering really very bad people out there, so why be very afraid for your life that you'd pull that trigger for the slightest fear that you might get shot hurt, or shot dead. I mean, being shot is part of the game, and every cop wants to get home safe and sound, yes, I get that, but that doesn't justify immediately pulling the trigger to kill, let alone pulling the trigger eight times ?

There seems to be a higher level of officer involved shootings in this area than one would expect. It's bothersome.

What really surprises me is this is the same area of the country where a pharmacist was put away for shooting a robber to death.

Everything's too blurry anymore to make sense. Too many people who don't want to do things right or use common sense, too many loopholes that let things go wrong. Seems the law used to be more clear. Nobody got in trouble for shooting the bad guy and police officers didn't need questioned about their actions. Or was I just in lala land?
