Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) was on with Greta Van Susteren Thursday to discuss the Obama scandals.

This came after Jake Tapper at CNN broke the news that there were “dozens” of CIA operatives on the ground in Benghazi on 9-11 when the consulate came under attack and the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret.

Gowdy told Greta the Obama Administration is hiding the survivors, dispersing them around the country, AND changing their names.

“Including changing names, creating aliases. Stop and think what things are most calculated to get at the truth? Talk to people with first-hand knowledge. What creates the appearance and perhaps the reality of a cover-up? Not letting us talk with people who have the most amount of information, dispersing them around the country and changing their names.”

And, at the same time Obama is hiding the survivors around the country he’s calling Benghazi a ‘phony’ scandal.

Hmm, so you and the congressman want their covers blown. This would destroy their careers as covert operators and put them and their families in danger from terrorists. Very patriotic of you!

You have made an assumption here without foundation. Of course we all know it makes you very angry when anyone posts anything that puts Obama in a poor light so you respond emotionally. Maybe you need to take a time out and recover your emotions.

Did you post the article as support of Obama and keeping the names secret so their covers will not be blown?

Far more patriotic than your phony commander in chief trying to hide the truth from the American people. Fortunately, as we saw with Watergate, conspiracies can't last as long as the participants need them to last. That one fell apart in 37 days. This one will take longer, because of the level of Kool-Aid in the systems of the underlings. Might want to check your own intake levels, by the way.

So you think it is all right to blow their cover and put them and their families at risk?

If you are not familiar with crabby he likes to ask you questions similar to "did you stop beating your wife" when he gets mad at your post. He is very emotional and irrational.

Have you guys prayed for your President today? It just seems that every opportunity to display him in a bad light is reached for on this board. Course if it were a Republican President, the folks who were still mad that he won an election would probably be doing the same thing.

There aren't a lot of great public numbers on the partisan breakdown of adherents to that conspiracy theory, but the University of Ohio yesterday shared with us the crosstabs of a 2006 poll they did with Scripps Howard that's useful in that regard.

"How likely is it that people in the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop the attacks because they wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East?" the poll asked.

A full 22.6% of Democrats said it was "very likely." Another 28.2% called it "somewhat likely."

That is: More than half of Democrats, according to a neutral survey, said they believed Bush was complicit in the 9/11 terror attacks.

I'm still not sure this represents actual belief, as opposed to a kind of trash talk about a president you hate. (Bush wasn't mentioned in that survey question, but had been earlier in the poll.)

Democrats and Republicans differ on conspiracy theory beliefs

Header-poll-results
Raleigh, N.C. – PPP’s latest national poll finds the American public differing along party lines on many conspiracy theories involving issues like global warming and the Iraq War, although some of the more bizarre ideas merit bipartisan skepticism.

The poll finds 28% of voters believe that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order. 34% of Republicans and 35% of independents believe in the New World Order threat compared to just 15% of Democrats.

44% of voters believe the Bush administration intentionally misled the public about weapons of mass destruction to promote the Iraq War, while 45% disagree. 72% of Democrats believed the statement while 73% of Republicans did not. 22% of Democrats, 33% of Republicans and 28% of independents believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Just 6% of voters think Osama bin Laden is still alive.

There is an intense partisan divide on whether or not global warming is a hoax: 58% of Republicans agree that it is a conspiracy, while 77% of Democrats disagree. 20% of Republicans believe that President Obama is the Anti-Christ, compared to 13% of independents and 6% of Democrats who agree. 51% of Americans believe there was a larger conspiracy at work in the JFK assassination, while 25% think Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. 29% believe aliens exist and 21% believe a UFO crashed at Roswell in 1947.

“Even crazy conspiracy theories are subject to partisan polarization, especially when there are political overtones involved,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But most Americans reject the wackier ideas out there about fake moon landings and shape-shifting lizards.”

5% of respondents believe that Paul McCartney died and was secretly replaced in the Beatles in 1966, and just 4% believe shape-shifting reptilian people control our world by taking on human form and gaining power. 7% of voters think the moon landing was fake.

There's no difference in the the politics behind the Obama Benghazi conspiracy theories than there were in the Bush 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Folks who are still mad that the other guy won the Presidency are still on an "impeachable witch hunt" to display the guy who beat their guy unfavorably.

You are talking out of things you know nothing about. Had you been here during the Bush years you would know better. Your assumptions are only based on your own support for Obama.

Obama is not just a Democratic President. He is an extremist of the highest level. He is a marxist and he is pure evil. Period. Something I would have never said about Clinton.

And just for your info there was plenty of criticism of Bush and his spending around here.

Obama arming Islamic extremists puts us all in danger that includes you and your family. Poking the Russians in the eye with a sharp stick in Syria puts us all at risk. Everything Obama does puts us at risk.

Gimme a break. You don't know what I know. :laugh:You just think you know that just like you think you're the resident King of Knowing everything else.

I didn't have to be here during the Bush years. And it's your pure know it all ignorance that has you thinking you know my viewpoint on Obama when you OBVIOUSLY do not. Have you prayed for the man today? I would imagine not cause it's hard to genuinely pray for someone and turn around and try to smear their name.

It's a shame that folks will call themselves Christians on one hand and display such a downright ugly attitude about another human being because of politics.

.

And blah blah blah blah. Democrats said the same thing about Bush being evil. They said it about Reagan too. And just like the Democrats did with Reagan and Bush, Republicans are looking for every excuse to ridicule a sitting President just because they are still mad that their guy lost.

For 8 years, Democrats whined about Bush stealing the election from Gore and set out on a vendetta to make him the most evil man to ever live. I've heard it all.

And now the Republicans are doing the same thing with Obama.

So save your "you don't know of what you speaks". I know exactly of what I speak because it's consistent with the rest of your hypocrisy.

And just for your info there was plenty of criticism of Bush and his spending around here.

I didn't say there wasn't. My comments were to the conspiracy theories which I fully expected you to try to talk around as different.
