Yes CTB, and if it had been a Republican who was mocked, you'd scour the web for articles supporting it. :wavey:

You are very wrong preacher4. A person should never, never, never mock any president! Policies can be objected to but the person who is the president and the office of the president should NEVER be mocked.

Preacher4, I voted Republican in more presidential elections than Democrat. I was registered Republican longer than I have been registered Democrat. It was when the Republican Party used its Southern Strategy and turned mean and hateful toward just about every group you can mention that I began voting for Democrats. I even voted for Bush in the first election. I liked his talk abut Compassionate Conservatism. However, when the change his policies, taking the very bad advice from his top folk, then I could not vote for him again.

As a compassionate Christian I cannot vote for people who have only disdain for and push for policies that will harm the poor, elderly and those in need.

Actually, I dont see a problem with it -whether the POTUS was a D or a R.

Does this mean that the Gov and LT Gov NEVER watch Jay Leno or David Letterman?

Come on- let loose a bit.

One of the last jokes Johnny Carson told on his show was "I would like to thank Vice President Quail for all the great materal these past few weeks" (well maybe not an an exact quote - but close enough for govt work) He was refering to the Murphy Brown charcter having a child as a single mother.

I thought it was a great joke. Now if a senator had said that on the House floor - that would be a different story.

    Edited with the follwing:
Hey, I just wished Crabby a happy Anniversary - so I have to show I disagree with him on something!

Salty, I do not see Carson's remark as mocking Dan Quail. I remember the political satirist saying, "I do not need to hire writers. I have over 500 people in Congress who give me more material than I can use."

Having said that, I view mocking a president or the office of the president as in extremely poor taste regardless of his political party. I remember it was an unspoken agreed upon measure that the press would never show FDR in a wheelchair.

I am bothered that in our world today nothing and no one is given respect.

Salty, read my reply to your congratulations in the anniversary post.

One must ponder, if CTB was banned from BB, would the headline be the same as the title of this thread?

I often times wonder when I see "family friendly" are they saying they are Christians?

If they do try to maintain a "family friendly" atmosphere, I fully understand why they would deem his behavior inappropriate.

However, it again, is the type of behavior of which we are seeing more and more of because those who don't care for the President have made it okay.

And those who fancy themselves Republican or conservative have taken to doing it more often perhaps because the Bill Mahers , Dems or liberals were so continuously disrespective of President Bush.

I'm sure, in your world, it is. Come to think of it, you'd probably like to see it classified as "hate speech." It isn't.

It is the kind of political commentary that has been going on in this country for generations. Think Thomas Nash. Think Will Rogers.

But liberals has lost the ability to grow a thick skin and absorb humor at the expense of their "idols." You spent eight years not just being funny, but being cruel, vicious and liars when it came to saying anything negative about George W. Bush you could think to say. However, you fail to realize, no public figure is above this kind of treatment. But it isn't tolerated by liberals when it is aimed at liberals.

The appropriate action would have been to ignore the nonsense and let the guy do what got him a ton of laughs. We Missourians tend to laugh at what's funny. This guy was funny. Like it or not.

GOP’s rodeo of racism blows up

I figure as some folk always posts negative articles about the Obama I should give just a little equal time to the GOP and their racism.

You have to admit this has been quite a week for the GOP and their outlandish ___________________ fill in the blank.

When you put them all together, it does start to paint a certain picture. But George Bush did get a shoe thrown at him.

By itself, I don't think that the rodeo clown wearing the Obama mask was racist. People wore Dubya masks for Halloween and other events all the time.

But because Obama is Black, people are acting as though he is untouchable when it comes to things like this.

I think it's more troubling that lawmakers think there has to at some point be "consequences" for racial undertones. And I hope that the implication is not what it sounds like.

Crabby, why can't you be honest? The rodeo was not a GOP event. I don't know about the clown. Maybe he votes Republican but I doubt that he is a card carrying member or operative. But, leave it to Crabby to twist the facts.

Sag, read my first line in the OP. Just trying to average out the negative Obama ... and often very dishonest ... posts with a negative GOP post. If those folk continue to clog the BB with always Obama posts I figure the opposite not out of line.

Sag, and you really do not think a clown who is a Democrat would put on a mask ... a modern black face comedy. On that, give me a least a little break. And do you really think a Democrat would say, "I hope a bull runs over him"? Give me another small break on that one.

    I can have a bit of fun ... can't I?

"This guy was funny. Like it or not."

Just like all the whiney responses from whiney liberals!
