That's right the corporate media has been keeping you in the dark about what's going on at Fukushima. Sorry sometimes I forget just how un informed some people are.

After a self-imposed gag order by the mainstream media on any coverage of the Fukushima disaster (ostensibly the last thing the irradiated Japanese citizens needed is reading beyond the lies of their benevolent government, and TEPCO, and finding out just how bad the reality is especially since the key driver behind Abenomics is a return in confidence at all costs), the biggest nuclear catastrophe in history is once again receiving the attention it deserves. This follows the recent admission by TEPCO of the biggest leak reported at Fukushima to date, which forced the Japanese government to raise the assessment of Fukushima from Level 1 to Level 3, even though this is merely the catalyst of what has been a long and drawn out process in which Tepco has tried everything it could to contain the fallout from the exploded NPP, and failed. And today, in a startling and realistic assessment of Fukushima two and a half years after the explosion, the WSJ finally tells the truth: "Tepco Has Lost Control."

Here is how the mainstream media, in this case the Wall Street Journal, catches up with a topic covered extensively in the "alternative" media for the past several years:

I totally understand though TND you can't be expected to know about things the corporate press doesn't report on.

Well, now they are reporting on it. So this is your chance to catch up a little on a real threat. Unless that is you think that ignoring it will make it go away.

This represents monumental failure to understand the scientific principles that prevent this "event" from being of any importance or concern whatsoever. I would be wasting time and irritating trillions of electrons trying to explain why this means nothing at all, so I won't bother, given that you won't accept any of it.

No need for any further explanation I hear what you're saying. The health and well being of millions of people "means nothing at all" to you.

If it doesn't effect you personally it's no big deal. I get it.

Showing empathy towards others isn't very conservative. I get that too.

If you follow alternative news and share or discuss it with your friends, family and acquaintances, there is a strong possibility that you’ve been treated to rolling eyes, laughter and total disbelief.

Many of us have, for years, warned those closest to us about the over reach of government, the expansion of the surveillance state, globalization, and economic unsustainability. In the majority of instances, our diatribes, citations and impassioned arguments have likely fallen on deaf ears.

You’ve probably been called a doomer, conspiracy theorist or worse on numerous occasions.

    Are you crazy?

Or is it possible that the majority of people in this country, even many of our loved ones, have become so enthralled with the paradigms of consumerism, government dependence and apathy that they are purposefully being ignorant of what’s happening around them in an attempt to remove themselves from reality?

The team at leading alternative news hub SGTreport.com, which includes Rory, Peter and Sean, recently discussed this very phenomenon.

Fukushima leak is 'much worse than we were led to believe'

A nuclear expert has told the BBC that he believes the current water leaks at Fukushima are much worse than the authorities have stated.

Mycle Schneider is an independent consultant who has previously advised the French and German governments.
He says water is leaking out all over the site and there are no accurate figures for radiation levels.

Meanwhile the chairman of Japan's nuclear authority said that he feared there would be further leaks.

The ongoing problems at the Fukushima plant increased in recent days when the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) admitted that around 300 tonnes of highly radioactive water had leaked from a storage tank on the site.

Radioactive cesium level soars 90-fold at Fukushima in just 3 days

Levels of radioactive cesium-134 in a well at Fukushima nuclear power plant are up to 90 times higher than just three days ago, and may spread into the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, 10 applications to restart reactors under stricter rules have been received.
TEPCO, the company that operated the plant and is now in charge of the cleanup and decommissioning, said that cesium-134 levels in the well water were at 9,000 becquerels per liter, 150 times the legal level. While cesium-137 measured 18,000 becquerels, 200 times the permitted level.
