James has serious credibility issues outside of these comments. Surprised he was hired in the first place.

Upon what do you base those comments? His feud with former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach over how James' son was handled after his concussion? James was right, despite the character assassination attempted against him by Leach. The coach attempted to misdirect attention from himself and his own questionable character by starting rumors, some of which were just bizarre and insane, about James and his past life. There isn't anything questionable about James' credibility.

Craig James may have grounds to file a religious discrimination suit.

The following link cites a case in which a social worker did not place children with gay parents for religious reasons and was harassed and fired. He brought a religious discrimination suit and won.

So lying about hiring a PR firm during the Leach curfuffle, calling a media room a shed, exaggerating details about what actually happened in said shed (media room) isn't credibility issue? That's only the tip of the iceberg.

James isn't thought if very highly in Texas as evidence by receiving barely 4% of the Republican primary vote when he ran for senate.

Leach is a goof and a lawyer, off course he was going to sue. Note, Leach is again coaching, James is not broadcasting at which he was awful in doing. My opinion of course, but it was shared by many.

That's Leach's spin, from what I remember. You call this a "media room"?

At Texas Tech these days, they're calling it the "shed" that it is.

That's more the result of his being blamed for Tech firing Leach and costing the school a decent season more than it has anything to do with whether or not James is lying -- and I'm pretty sure he's not, especially given the fact Leach's subsequent lawsuit against James was dismissed with prejudice (can't be refiled), and his appeal to the Tech regents was unanimously rejected.

I agree, there are better sportscasters, but had it been my kid locked in a shed and accused of "dogging it" after a concussion, I'd try to get the coach fired, too. He deserved to be canned. That's no way to treat anyone, whether it was closet-sized or shed-sized or something else all together. You don't lock an injured player inside anything, not even a luxury suite at the Ritz.

Yeah, a fuller picture of the mistreatment he received. Really? They were trying to pass off a shed as a "sports medicine garage"?? What the hell is that? Why not put him in his room? Or better yet, a hospital? This is your idea of "proving" James is untrustworthy? It fails.

He needs to fight this under freedom of speech and take the real culprit of political correctness to task.

I'm not defending anyone, just saying James was less then "forthcoming". Leach has his fans to be sure, I'm not one of them, but he also isn't the completely evil person James would have you believe. Both parties seem to me tried really hard to make things look better or worse then they actually were. Plenty of fault to go around on this one. If you are a James fan that's fine, I'm not.

It does seem odd that they would choose to fire him over statements that were made waaaay before he was hired. It wasn't a secret what he said, comments were made in public for goodness sakes.

Political correctness hunts down people over their past 'offenses'. Paula Deen knows this as well. I know it feels 'odd' until we realize that it shouldn't feel that way any longer.
