I'm still not convinced she "bit" anyone's hand. :tonofbricks:The Bible says “don’t bite the hand that feeds”… ok, no it doesn’t. But whoever said it was one smart guy.![]()

A waitress was fired. Should she be protected under Freedom of Speech.
Spare Change? Help I'm a server at Famous Dave's on Pow Wow weekend! Anything helps! 5¢ 10¢! Its more than my tips
No. Freedom of speech is the right to say anything you want about the GOVERNMENT without consequences, not the right to say anything. It's not complicated.
Say what? you have got to be kidding.
Its leagal for a cop to lie to a suspect, even though nothing is said about the govt.
Otherwise, execpt for liable and lying in court - we have the freedom of speech.
What law did this waitress break: Stupidy. There are things I would like to say about employers I have worked for - but as I tell Mrs Salty, "I may be dumb - but I ain't stupid!"
She didn't say that. She didn't even insult Native Americans. Her sign stated she was "a server at Famous Dave's on Pow Wow weekend." That's all it says. It doesn't say "N/A's are bad tippers," and it doesn't say anything negative about either Famous Dave's or Pow Wow Weekend.Next day on the job tell your boss you don't work with Native Americans. Exercise your free speech. See if it keeps you employed.

Her former boss is apparently a PC-sensitive boor who needs to get a real life and offer the girl her job back. And she should say, "No thanks. I won't work for you anymore, but thank you very much."
First, I work for the Oneida Indians - Not native AmericiansNext day on the job tell your boss you don't work with Native Americans. ....
I know she didn't say that, but I offered up my example as a way for Salty to exercise his "freedom of speech rights". The point is that the government cannot regulate speech but employers sure can.
