    Now THIS is frightening!
If you have a child/children and you're military or former military, if you have a smoker in your home, if you are poor, if your child isn't doing too hot in school, if your child has a disability or developmental delay or if you simply live in a community deemed to be in need, or other things, the Affordable Health Care Act appears to allow social workers to come visit you. They say it can be nurses and such, but yeah right! They've always called out CPS workers in the past to investigate what they talk about in this section they refer to, and even so, wow! In your home.

If you're still wearing pants, I'm amazed. This should have scared them right off of you!

Gina, thanks for bringing this one up. I was going to give a reply that would have been facetious/sarcastic, and then say something about how this would be challenged against the fourth amendment; but the wording of the military part stopped me cold. If a woman is pregnant, and someone living in the household is serving or has served 2 or more deployments, the woman is in an "at-risk" household.

This means Sapper Woody's home is "at-risk" if his wife becomes pregnant. Mine would be, except that we're done with pregnancies...unless God works a HUGE miracle, or one of my daughters comes to live with us while she's pregnant.

Considering that the majority of deployed military members are fobbits and don't see any combat, the only way this clause makes any sense is if you believe all military members are blood-thirsty baby-killers....

They can try but will not get past the stoop nor will they be able to talk to anyone. I will tell them the same thing I tell doctors who ask inappropriate irrelevant questions. It is none of your business.

My husband was deployed multiple times.

I'm looking at the groups and it really bothers me that what I'm seeing is "the poor, the weak, the military." This doesn't strike me as a loving, caring government simply out to improve the health of the most vulnerable citizens.
Generally, the poorest of the poor are already covered by Medicaid and the military is covered by healthcare.
Why send people to their homes to do home checks? It's not about healthcare. It's about investigating for abuse and no investigator investigates to disprove an accusation, they go in with the intention of making something fit the accusation.

Why these groups? Who does that benefit?

They think they are at risk.

If they really want in, they'll find a way.

Here's a family who tried to say no: http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/california-police-baby-parents-improper-hospital-discharge-19081468

    There are many others.

BTW, in the case I linked, they actually got away with doing it, despite the news saying the parents "won" the case. They didn't totally win except at least they didn't keep the baby like so many others they steal. In this case, they did give the baby back, after having the parents sign a safety plan allowing them to come into their home to check the baby and agreeing to certain health care.

It has never been about health. It has always been about control.
