What makes you think I can't pray for him and also criticize him? I see no instructions in the Bible or the suggestion from Dr. Stanley that say I can't do both. And I do.

It's cute and sad that folks think their faux prayers for the President mean a hill of beans when they harbor such anger against the President.

I'm sure it's just another thing that folks use to make themselves feel justified about their own wickedness. It ain't hard to tell the difference between criticism and downright anger.

And this thread wasn't singling anyone out.:flower:

Nevertheless, those who truly desire that the President make Godly decisions, continue to lift him in prayer.:1_grouphug:

Judgment again. You haven't a clue as to what our prayers are like, what the motivations for them are, how diligently we pray. You simply assume that, due to our criticism of him, they can't be "real." How arrogant of you.

Let's see...I recall Christ hanging on a cross praying for those who His wrath raged against. Apparently you can do both...might want to retract insinuating He was 'wicked' for doing it, too

And how arrogant of you in your anger to assume the things you do about the President.

    Now scoot.

This is a call to prayer. It wasn't intended to be a thread to justify your behavior.

Apparently no one said you couldn't do both so what are you swooping in thinking you're proving with that nugget?

Now you can scoot too. It's a call to prayer.

You will not dismiss me, you will not judge me, and I will call you on your misrepresentations. You don't want me posting on your thread, you'd better have the mods close it.

Oh, so it's okay for you to judge my misrepresentations, but I can't judge yours? Stop being silly.

I don't care if you post on the thread. I just think it's sad that you're so angry that you can even take a thread asking folks to pray for the President and turn it into a platform to continue to vent your rage.

You're not judging my posts. You're judging my commitment to prayer, which you know less than nothing about.

Kindly show me where I vented anything, Zaac? Please, feel free to call me out if I've been angry on this thread, or expressed the disapproval of the man, a disapproval that angers you, but for which you won't take responsibility.

I'm judging what you say you do based upon the tenor of your posts. Now you can lie to yourself all you want. But that doesn't mean that I have to believe it.

The thing about unrighteous anger is that it prohibits us from righteously and genuinely praying for those to whom the unrighteous anger is directed.

We pat ourselves on the back and might go through some mote ritual, but it certainly ain't real prayer.

Folks like to say that they are praying for the President because it's the "christian" thing to do. But God in heaven knows that I and anyone with good sense knows that folks who harbor this much anger and animosity against someone ain't genuinely praying for them.

All one needs do is read any of your posts about the man and the anger is obvious. You've even stated that you were angry. But that's for you and God to deal with as you're not the only one.

But like I said, perhaps the reason the good conservative members of the GOP keep getting more of what they don't want is because they keep spewing out wickedness and trying to justify it as Godliness.

Preach the Gospel and pray for the President and those in authority as God commands.

It is pure sin when we harbor anger and resentment that keeps us from rightly doing so.

He does seem to think he is appointed to that role, doesn't he?

Seemingly that would be you as you so often like to swoop in and make that assessment.

Oh you mean like the role you and others on here have taken with the President?

Get over your anger about these trivial things that aren't eternal and pray for the President as God commands.

Your elitist snobbery in which you portray yourself as "above the fray" when in fact you are a primary catalyst for the upheaval on this board disqualifies you from making any judgment or providing any guidance to my behavior, or anyone else's. We're done.

You know, guys, if the Apostle Paul could pray for Roman Emperor Nero and his henchmen--and advise his hearers/readers to do the same--can't we at least pray for those in authority (& that's not limited to just those at the national level: Our state & local authorities need prayer too!) over us?

I don't lose any sleep over those who supposedly claim to know what my justification(s) and/or motive(s) for so doing.

When it's all said and done, they're not the one to whom I must answer.

Well there is certainly anger against his policies. Such as the unfetttered access to the slaughter of unborn children. Of course old Zac was not concerned with praying for Romney and railed against him being a mormon. But in the bigger picture Romney was not black so.........

Right because it's elitist snobbery when someone calls the mess what it is instead of patting you on the back about it.

Primary catalyst for upheaval? Well hallelujah! Somebody has to interject in this cycle of constant unGodliness that so many on here think is Godly because the majority are in agreement with them.

Biblically speaking, Jesus was such a catalyst as was Peter and Paul and the rest of the disciples and the prophets.

If you recall, I didn't ask you to comment in this thread. I asked for folks to pray for the President and in you and your anger marched.
