It takes place in a parked car but former press secretary for George W. Bush and Fox News show host Dana Perino reveals a great secret about forgiveness that is travelling far across the internet.

Perino relates a story about betrayal, relationships and the power of forgiveness inside the White House in a video produced by Real Clear Politics.

I'm bewildered that you would find this video something to like, something perhaps to emulate or learn from. I thought of this when she talked about wanting to throw someone under the bus, and Bush told her 'No' which immediately reminded me of how you throw my brothers in Reformed theology and Calvinism under the bus every chance you can and denigrate them with many a broad brush accusation.

What really have you learned from this video? You use it as an example of how you behave or how you should behave?

I have not denigrated anyone. But I do object to how many of them denigrate anyone who is not a Calvinist on this board. My issue is not that they are Calvinists. But how they treat those who are not. And it is a common problem among you guys to the point that it is discussed broadly throughout the internet. Even Piper and Mohler have addressed the divisiveness with which cals talk to people in such a belittling and arrogant fashion. And now we have another one on board and his first post begins with an arrogant title.

And now you have chosen to derail this thread which is another example of what I am talking about.

Oh put an end to your disdain and grudge holding and man up for a change and look at how YOU talk about and treat others. You're sowing discord by repeating these alleged indiscretions and you do it daily with name calling and stereotyping. You jump into many a thread to denigrate my brothers with your accusations. I see you need evidence of your own behavior that you should have been convicted of? Lose your labeling of my brothers and practice what you allege to have learned from the video.

Nowhere do you show any forgiveness in how you act concerning those you hold grudges toward. I see no learning on your part from the video and your post above proves it.

No one is derailing your thread, I'm actually discussing your behavior and what you haven't learned from your video. I'm on topic.

    WOW!!!!
If you got all that from the OP, I wonder what you get from SCRIPTURE????

And as for the "under the bus" comment, have you never, NEVER, had the same urge??

I totally agree with the point of the video about forgiveness, but I have wanted to retaliate many times - before I calmed down and FORGAVE!!

Try it, p4t, you might just like it.

(Not saying you don't, but your post leads me to this very real possibility.)

Actually your not being honest here. I do not do it daily as I have placed most of you all on ignore for quite a while now.

And this post and derail of this thread is one more example of the attack dog tactics of cals.

My ignore list will grow heavier today.

Wow is right. Look at your initial repsponse and attack. :)

What are you even talking about? Of course I agree with the video, and of course I've experienced her feelings. How you come up with I don't agree with it is beyond me, you're WAY off track with that assessment.

There you go denigrating again. You've said the same earlier. And often. YOu're a grudge holder and use name calling nearly unremittingly. You've show you've actually learned nothing from the video. I have no one on ignore, but if you can't handle the truth and see this as what you really need to hear, go ahead, put me on ignore, your loss.

How is it that we can't discuss the content or merit of the subject of the OP without turning it into a discussion about calvinism?

About calvinism? You seriously cannot see the issue can you? We have a video that speaks of forgiveness, and speaks of throwing people under the bus, which the OP does on a regular basis toward a group of brothers and sisters on here.

In the video Bush told this woman to not practice such behavior (something she should have known in the first place, and something the OP should have known as well, but still practices). These things are the issue, not the camp, the behavior toward a camp of brothers and sisters. The video speaks of the glory and grace of forgiveness in not throwing persons under the bus, and practicing forgiveness, and I've called the OP on it as this is his behavior. That's the OP and that is the topic, not calvinism, something you've completely missed. But carry on, I believe you don't want to see the big picture, it's easier to blame than to admit and concede to truth.

In the video the woman shares how she wanted to retaliate against a friend who wrote a book to bash the president. She held a grudge toward the man, and the president found out. He called her into the oval office to discuss this, and told her in essence to let the issue go, there are bigger things at hand. She said she wanted to throw this man under the bus, denigrate him, &c so she asked if she could do that in front of the president and he said no, don't do it, forgive. So the OP is about not behaving this way, not denigrating persons, not 'throwing persons under the bus' (her words in the video) but instead being unforgiving, letting things go for the sake of forgiveness, which makes for a great story, and would be greater if it were actually practiced and changed a persons behavior and caused repentance.

And this is how you respond when someone points out that YOU brought up calvinists in your very first response?

You preach about the topic being forgiveness and not throwing brothers under the bus; but in your reply condemning Rev for not practicing it, aren't you also not forgiving him and, by pointing it out so publicly, throwing him under the bus?

I'm not trying to defend Rev; I'm pointing out how quickly some of these threads are used to cast light on the calvinist/anti-calvinist disagreements between members of the board....

You don't get it. It's not about Calvinists or Calvinism. And who cares? What if he were attacking another camp and I brought up that group of brothers name? Would you be bellyaching as you are now? Of course not. :)

No, actually I'm not. But in your theology, calling a brother on behavior is unforgiving? Interesting and shallow. According to you Paul should have told Timothy when he charged him, Titus and others to do just that that they were really practicing unforgiveness.

No wonder the church is in such a mess when persons hold such an unScriptural approach as you. Open rebuke to Don = unforgiveness. Wow. That tells a lot right there.

You can say what you want, but you are defending him and willfully missing the point to stir the pot. You're the only one turning this into a Calvinism debate. I simply pointed out the camp he relentlessly denigrates.

If you wanted to see you'd get on board and agree that his denigration of brothers on here is unfortunate, and ask him to end it especially in view of this video. I called him on the hypocrisy of it all. But carry on and be willfully ignorant as you are.

Your statement is proof of my observation. I can't help it if you can't remove the plank from your own eye while justifying your opportunity to call out someone you don't like and denigrate them for denigrating others.

    EWF is right.

It's called accountability in the face of hypocrisy. The OP has been called to practice what he preaches. Man up on it.

Ya think Dr. Obvious?

The bell already rang and you're late to the fight. Hey, if you can't handle confronting behavior and hypocrisy you may want to start a romper room on bb so you won't get uptight, self-righteous or offended. :)
