Pop Star or Dennis the Menace?

Are your kids fans of Bieber?

Will the actions of Bieber change the minds of your kids?

Other thoughts?

Please, no more comments about this moron.

The kid needs our prayers. He's on the path of self-destruction so many young stars have walked--Brittany Spears, Miley Cyrus, etc. They cannot handle fame and fortune at their immature age and it harms them.

Absolutely. I prayed for him yesterday because I think he's on the path to being dead real soon at the rate he's going. I just don't need to hear about his shenanigans and see him smiling after getting arrested.

Well, he's obviously a pop star with an immature, stupid streak in him.

My kids, aged 16 and 13, can't stand Justin Bieber. His actions will reinforce their belief that drinking and using drugs is wrong and only gets you into trouble.

I hope he gets saved. His testimony would be an awesome thing. Then I couldn't get enough Justin Bieber.

I never knew/heard he was supposed to be a Christian.
None of the teens I've heard commenting really seem to care. They're all older teens though. Perhaps he's more popular with the middle school crowds.

Miley, on the other hand...ugh. Sit on a hunk of cement while looking like the poster face for V.D. and suddenly you're the adored focus of hordes of young Americans? I wonder what other countries think of that. Do they hold the same types in such high regard? Hrm. Something to look into. The substance of role models across the world.

I think he's a kid from a broken home who went looking for attention and approval in all the wrong places and ended up becoming a punk.

Ultimately, though, I think he's a very sad boy who is in desperate need of the Gospel.

No.

To be honest, I doubt they know enough about him to have an opinion one way or the other.

I'm so sick and tired of stories about this spoiled brat who apparently thinks he's above the law, and kids idolize losers like him.

My feelings exactly. He is not a moron, he is a troubled child not matter what his chronological age. I am saddened every time I hear of a new exploit. He is on a path to youthful destruction.

He needs our compassion and prayers, not hatred and ridicule.

Does he?

I don't think he needs our compassion or prayer.

He needs repentance before God and man.

A child of God in open and flagrant unrepentance will not get God's compassion, nor should that person that remains in rebellion gain believer's compassion or prayers.

So believers should not love and pray for the lost or struggling believers?

God really doesn't show compassion on a 'child of God in open and flagrant unrepentance?'

I want to thank you for displaying quite openly a general attitude among so many cals.

What an unChristian, ungodly and evil post. Everyone deserves some level of compassion and prayer. Even one of the most evil men in the world deserves prayer (Obama). Your judgmental and legalistic attitude is the very thing that the church has to constantly fight to overcome. Your post here is in the same vein as Westboro Baptist.

Maybe you forget where you came from.

:applause: Amen! No wonder our young people want to chase all this world has to offer! When Christians display such an unloving, unkind attitude, it drives them further away from anything to do with God.

There but for the grace of God go you or I.

Can you show me were God ever shows compassion to unrepentance and flagrant rebellion against Him by His own in Scriptures?

There are plenty to choose - for often in Scriptures are people shown to be in rebellion against God.

What do the prophets declare toward Israel when the people are in rebellion?

What compassion did God show those called by His own name?

Certainly, He kept a remnant that He purged from among all those that He destroyed. An extremely small group and even they were and are historically continually in His pruning work.

The compassion of God does not fail, but neither does His judgment and wrath poured out upon the flagrant rebellion, especially of His own.
"A man who hardens his neck after much reproof will suddenly be broken beyond remedy."
And what prayer will God hear from the believer who is in such a state of rebellion?

Only the prayer of repentance. Prayer just as occurred when the Corinthians where shown to be in sinfully engaged, so much so that some already had early died.

And what is given for the heart prayer of those who care for the rebellious?

Look at Paul's statement to the Corinthians when they repented of the sinfulness:
I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
The prayer of believers about the condition of the rebellious believer is that God's guidance - God's will in bringing sorrow will result in repentance. God will present sorrow and the believer will either die or repent.

Believers praying for one in rebellion are to pray for themselves, also, that they be on guard in their own ways to not be shackled to sinfulness.

I have no compassion for the rebellious. I do not rejoice when they fail and fall, but pray that the sorrows of God will lead them to repentance. I rejoice when such occurs.

Unbelievers are a totally separate issue than that of the OP.

You're slipping. An oft cited verse by Calvinists to "prove" God has "common grace" towards man, Matthew 5:45.

Matt 5:45 For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
