He is among the greats of those who brought music to causes for the benefit of many.

In 1979, he told Rolling Stone that “I still believe the only chance for the human race to survive is to give up such pleasures as ... private profit.” But the profits kept piling up from his song writing and record sales. Talk about your warped view of the world. I guess socialism was fine for everybody but Pete.

I hope he repented and received Christ before he died, but he remained a staunch Marxist until the end, so it seems unlikely.

I had no idea that This Land is Your Land was a Marxist anthem until a couple of years ago.

That's okay that the picture is so big. He was a big communist.

Debbie Reynolds can sing. This looks like 50's stuff or early 60's. She didn't know that the real song was If I Had a Hammer and a Sickle. The commies were masters of deceit in worming their way into the culture. Reagan called them rightly--an "evil empire."

It is hard to understand how Seeger could sing for the Stalinists. He probably did it for the money. He sure toed the commie line. If you don't believe me, check the record of his flip flops against the USA over the Hitler-Stalin pact and then the German invasion of Russia.
