Don't know if you've noticed Rev but the term "statist" could apply to about 95% of the regular posters here.

Democrats and Republicans all love control.

I do not agree with that statement. If you said politicians you would be closer to the truth!

Is liberty anarchy? If not what system of government are you proposing? Any form of government will by necessity impose some limits. We supposedly have a representative Republic but that form of government just doesn't work at all if one side refuses to cooperate with the other. That's the position the Republicans in Congress have taken. This is the worst Congress in U.S. history in terms of enacting new laws. The world is changing. Contrary to what many people seem to believe here, a 250 year old document can't fully establish workable solutions to the problems of the 21st century. Therefore, with a global economic crisis still in place and I believe getting worse, the only way for the U.S. to do ANYTHING is for President Obama to use executive powers to do it. I don't like that any more than you do but your party is the reason why this is happening. We need to return to the revolutionary war idea that we need to hang together or we'll all hang separately.

The government does not nee to be passing laws all the time. We need less government spending a whole lot less time in washington. And what Obama is doing is against the constitution. There is no justification for it even if it were true about the Republicans(and it is not).

What Obama wants is his way or the highway. And no President should have that. All three branches of government are equal. Obama needs to remember that.

The American people do not want the country going the way Obama is illegally taking us. And The democrats are all-in with him, save for the smart ones.

Most posters here favor limited government, balanced budgets, and personal liberties above federalism. So your statement is totally biased and wrong ... but then, it is from the anarchist's perspective, so that's to be expected, I suppose.

Wait a minute -- I thought our (not global, but U.S.) economy was getting better under Obama? If that's true, as the government reports, then why do we need executive irders to make things better?

Unless you're admitting that things aren't better, in which case Obama has been lying to us about that, too....

    Which is it?

You are dead wrong sport. It is the Senate democrats led by dingy Harry who will not work with the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

Sure! We need a few more laws like Obamacare!

    Getting colder or hotter?

It could if the democrats knew what it said!

democrats have wanted a dictator to do their thinking for them since FDR, now they got Obama!

Give me liberty or give me death said that famous Virginian Patrick Henry. The democrat party is the party of death and that is the truth!

When we're in an economic crisis the government needs to be able to react to it. This congress has done nothing. Exactly what has President Obama done that is against the constitution? By the way, if you think a set of laws enacted in the 1700's apply exactly to thge 21st century without change you're sadly mistaken.

I see I'm going to be ignored. FTW needs to answer: is the economy in trouble, and therefore Obama's administration is lying about economic recovery?

In a democracy (or constitutional republic if you prefer) the will of the people is expressed by voting. Twice Obama has been elected President of the United States. That demonstrates that he is the choice of the people at least in comparison to the very weak alternatives presented by the dying Republican party.

He took an oath to enforce the laws not make them. He has modified the Immigration law to allow people to stay in the country illegally. He has changed the provisions of Obamacare some 30 times. He has failed to enforce DOMA.

You are correct. The democrats and obama routinely fail to uphold their oath to defend the Constitution.

That's weird cuz all your posts in politics weigh quite heavy on the statism scale.

Limited government goes out the window with your support for failed policies like the "war on drugs", the "war on terorr", the "police state" and "endless military adventurism". Balanced budget goes out the window with your support for "endless military adventurism", the "police state", the "war on terror" and the "war on drugs". Personal liberties goes out the window with your support for all of the above plus your support for the patriot acts and your silence on the NDAA, military commissions act, and the Posse Comitatus act.

But then, you do tend to look at everything from a neocon's perspective, so that's to be expected, I suppose.

It's actually called a "Representative Republic".

Ok, but I think you're going to be eating those words in November, when the American people speak again.

As Don has asked (twice now) are we still in an economic crisis?

    Do you not remember this?

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Pub.L. 111–5), commonly referred to as the Stimulus or The Recovery Act, was an economic stimulus package enacted by the 111th United States Congress in February 2009 and signed into law on February 17, 2009, by President Barack Obama.

The approximate cost of the economic stimulus package was estimated to be $787 billion at the time of passage, later revised to $831 billion between 2009 and 2019.

    Or this?

The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (Pub.L. 112–240, H.R. 8, 126 Stat. 2313, enacted January 2, 2013) was passed by the United States Congress on January 1, 2013, and was signed into law by President Barack Obama the next day.

Are not these two actions the Congress "doing something"?

You've got chutzpa, I'll give you that. Takes nerves of steel to post crap like that given the mind of the voting public today.

A poll in January, less than a year after his second inauguration, showed the American people would now change their vote to Romney, 60% to 40%. The public knows they've been lied to, cheated, and robbed. In November, be prepared to mourn, because the Democratic Party is going to be deathly ill for years to come.

Ya gotta remember now that FTW really believes in rule by majority.

Collectivists can't fathom why there should be any reason to protect the individual from the will of the mob.
