    A) To fulfill the Great Commission through a loving sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

    B) Or something else?

And if you believe the answer is A, why are we prone to be better known for B than A?

"A" and the reason some think we are better known for "B" is because they don't understand "B" in light of "A"

I'm not really certain that I understand the point of the OP.

I believe that most of us that post in the BB Forums would agree that we should [Actually we are COMMANDED to by "The Great Commission" in the NT Gospels as well as by what Jesus Christ Himself told the Apostles in Acts 1:8!!].

The OP's statement of "Something Else" is not very precise as to what that "Something Else" may be referring.

Zaac: I think many of us who are viewing this thread would be grateful if you would explain in a little more detail what you mean by "Something Else."

Thanks in advance for whatever clarification(s) you can offer us.

Certainly ktn4eg. I'm talking about a pattern that I see on this board and in a lot of churches.

I once heard a pastor say that you'll talk about most the things you love the most.

Do we talk more about the love of Christ and sharing the Gospel that points folks to Christ than we do about ISSUES? I'm not saying that everybody does. But it seems to be very obvious when the scale has tilted towards something other the Great COmmission and loving folks to Christ.

Perhaps this may be the case with the "circle(s)" in which you fellowship.

OTOH, I haven't noticed this situation among those with whom I have most of my "Christian" fellowship.

There are, of course, some folks who always seem to have some kind of "hobby-horse" topics on which they almost always try to insert into just about any conversation that exists.

For my part, I tend to shy away from such people since these people most always will arrive at the same "self-derived conclusion(s)" about which whatever topic(s) they are wont to pontificate.

Hopefully God will see fit to lead you expand your "Circle(s) of Fellowship" and help you to find more people with whom you can have more profitable conversations.

What you are missing here is old Zaac does not like posts that are critical of the President. So he works to make attempts (even as poorly as they are) to try and tie any criticism of the President to a lack of love for the lost. He does this because....you know....he doesn't have anything else.

    Looks like a pretty self-serving O/P.

But the BB through a modified interpretation of a rule (I was active when it was made, so I know) wants to relegate the fight where it can't be fought, and effectively cede the battle to Sodom.

Not really liking their new friends. Don't want to play anymore. Dad says I need to play in our own yard for awhile, anyway.

The struggle of the church has always been balancing A while engaging in B, whatever B may be.

Not a new struggle, just different B's

A, but sometimes you MUST confront the sinners and warn them of judhement to come from a Holy God also!

For if you know their ways are wicked, and that judgement awaits them, does not the Lord require us to say to those operishing that God saves, but also that once saved, he qill demand you toconfirm to his standards and ways then?
